Maternity Images

I handed my camera over to my husband to snap a few photos before our little lady arrives.

(Gag on the bathroom pictures…I couldn’t let those be the only photos of me pregnant.)

He was initially frustrated with the camera, settings, exposure, etc, but within minutes he was shooting like a pro.

Thanks, Rick, for doing for me what I couldn’t do myself.

~ 37 Weeks ~

OUCH

That’s how I feel  after  10 am until I retire to bed.

I seriously wonder when my skin is going to tear open.

I walk around the house all day with both of my hands under my belly, attempting to “lift” the weight up. It sort of helps, but not really.

(Meanwhile, I wonder why in the world I would do this again for baby #2. It seems nearly impossible now, it hurts so bad.  Oh, and that smile is only for the camera.)

I keep telling our little lady she can come any time!!!

These last weeks are brutal. I now know why women welcome an early delivery.

Here’s to 3 more LONG weeks.

Paranoid or Prepared???

My nightstand over-floweth with books!

I know everyone has their preferences of child-rearing books/pregnancy books based on what worked for them.

I emailed friends asking what books they’d recommend.

Feedback was mixed, which I appreciated.

I found many of the recommended books at local thrift stores. (I love a good deal!)

Some books have been loaned from friends, others gifted by a sister and the rest checked out from the local public library.

If anything, it’s given me something to do on those nights I have a hard time falling asleep.

(OK, EVERY NIGHT!)

I’ve read most with a grain of salt, taking from them what I like.

33 & 35

Celebrating 33 years of life!

I love nothing more than flowers on my birthday, and Rick surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet when he came home from work around 3 p.m.

(That NEVER happens!)

Ashley, a dear friend surprised me with flowers too!  WOW, it made my day.

Megan sent me chocolate dipped strawberries that were sinfully delicious and the perfect birthday dessert.

Despite being sick with a nasty cold the entire week, we had a nice evening together.

Birthday dinner consisted of  hot mugs of  herbal tea.

I snuggled all cozy (Cara, that white blanket you gave us for Christmas has been my favorite thing all winter!!!)

on the couch with my box of tissue and frequent trips to the bathroom for my Neti Pot rinse.  (Praise the Neti Pot!)

and Rick, well, he pumped up my new yoga ball.

(I still think Rick is gifted in the “gift wrapping” department!)

Our little lady is growing and things are getting tight inside, but that doesn’t seem to stop her from throwin‘ elbows and kickin‘ her feet all over.

The closer I get to delivery, the more excited I feel to welcome her to the world.

Here is to a year that will forever change our lives and we are so excited!

34 days to go.

“Nesting”

Rick and I flew to Southern California for 48 hour trip, back in January.

I decided to stay a few extra days and visit with my in-laws and my sister, while Rick flew back to work.

About 10 days before we left, my sister Morgan says, “Let’s drive to Utah and have a baby shower for you!”

So we did!!

She called Megan, my other sister, to have her prep invites.  They were well on their way planning this shower.

We left Sunday afternoon and drove straight to Saratoga Springs, arriving around 1 am, with all three of her children in tow.

I didn’t think I was going to be able to have a family baby shower, so I was just tickled that I would be able to see my family and friends in Utah to celebrate Baby Z.
