We took Bridgette to Legg Lake to see the ducks. Holy smokes, this child loves ducks.
After seeing so many ducks, she quickly caught on:
“Qu aaaaa ck!”
Oh! On June 26th, a day before our trip, Bridgette started walking on her own! YAY!!!
I kept telling myself, “Ok little B, we’re going on a trip and it would be really nice if you could start walking on your own before we go!” and sure enough, she took off!
It was a hot day at the lake, but she loved all the ducks! Feeding them too!
We flew to California for some visits with family. Stop one: Great Grandma’s house!
Great grandma did not disappoint! She had this awesome retro booster seat…

(Again, she loves avocado/guacamole!)

…which also turns into a rocker…which can also recline…which can also be attached to a stroller! I was impressed! Mainly impressed that she still had this seat around. It must be 40-50+ years old!

Speaking of old, check out this little potty!
Awesome, no!?
Fresh citrus from the tree

I love her bum!

There are two things Bridgette loves right now: dogs and kisses!
We keep this dog on our mantel now, ever since she discovered it on our bookshelf in our room. Now she’ll point to it then sign “dog” very enthusiastically until we bring it down for her to kiss.

We’re still working on “appropriate” types of kisses!

Always the happy eater!
Our Summer is filled with morning walks. We have a very early riser and this morning routine of walking on a local trail has been wonderful for both mama and Bridgette.
Me and B invited our friends for a trip to Devil’s lake for a few hours.

It was crowded, sandy, warm and wet. Bridgette LOVED being able to stand up in the lake and walk around in her float.
She also discovered and ate mouthfuls of sand!

The child loves watermelon! She couldn’t stop. (Sounds like me!)

Kari and Tristan, we had so much fun with you guys. Let’s do it again!

Animal books are among her favorite!

Wearing her great grandmother’s silky scarf and adoring herself in the mirror.
Going ballistic over the pinatas at Woodmans Market

Stacking blocks on this ring keeps her busy for about 5 minutes.

Happy Father’s Day to one of the best ones out there!
Bridgette’s first hands on craft: a tie box that we made together.

Although Rick is working a 30+ hour shift on Father’s Day, Bridgette and I feel like the luckiest ladies around to have such a wonderful Papa.
Saturday we had some Turkish and Italian food at a restaurant, then home for stories

Kisses

and gift giving!

We love you Papa and appreciate all the long hours you put in at work (70+ hours/week) for our family and for the sacrifices you are making now so we can have you home more in the future.
Bridgette is a blessed little girl to call you “papa” and for the wonderful example you are to her.
We adore you and we miss you when you’re gone.
Happy Father’s Day, Papa!
