Wear It Pink SL Day October 28-29, 2010

2 Nov

Wear It Pink Day officially took place on October 29, 2010, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. The campaign seeks to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and how it affects not BC victims, but the people in their lives as well. For Wear It Pink Day, a small group of coordinators, including Sweetest Sands and CindyS Tatham put on a fashion show and auction…all funds going toward breast cancer research. I won a few items and walked during the second day of the auction. Out of the several items I won, wore, I will show you three.

Opium’s Arabian Nights Show

5 Apr

A venue full of hookah’s filling flavorful smoke in the air, jewel toned carpets, lamps, and tapestries are laid out, and with dark, intricately carved wood, the middle eastern exoticism is prevalent. This was the scene of Opium Fashion Agency’s recent One Thousand and One Arabian Nights show, a show held on two days to give the audience two chances to watch this fantastic ride of color, music, and belly dance. Incredibly sexy and sultry models had strut and danced their way through beautiful gold runway, showcasing designs from Mashooka, Wishbox, AngelWing, and Prince Magic Designs.

Everyone was comfortably seated in front of the runway on cushions and each hookah was perched on top of a jewel toned carpet. The hookahs were delicious, and we all smoked, blew out rings, and enjoyed the show in a bit of a relaxed haze.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous, a gold and ivory colored building with wooden bazaar like shops surrounding it, it was as if we were indeed in a place like Morocco.

The show had alternated models actually walking on the runway, and models dancing on flying carpets. The unexpected touches like the carpets really set this show apart from a standard fashion show, it was truly an amazement and so entertaining to watch!

I cannot begin to tell you how hot and steamy these models were, they really embodied a hot exotic night, and with the combination of perfect runway skills? *faints* These models were excellent, and really helped make this show come alive, along with the creative decor.

The female models entranced us all with their sexy bellydances, a delightful alternative to just posing. The dancing really made the show a lot more fun and embodied the theme.

Unfortunately, the men did not dance, but they did pose and style fabulously. The men were tall, dark, and certainly handsome, with an air of mystery and a regality that is hard to rival.

This show was fabulous, fun, and full of top models for a top notch show. It was such a delight and I know I went absolutely nuts whenever a red carpet would fly out or a model would start dancing instead of posing. This was a unique production and I give the coordinators, models, designers, and of course Opium, a big round of applause.
