TOUGH ENOUGH: Jon Spencer - Bahamas - The darts & many more
Tough Enough returns to Le Botanique for a second edition, with even more americana, folk, garage and psychedelic vibes!
The festival stands out for its two-headed artistic direction, blending traditional, acoustic and roots music with rock sounds ranging from garage to punk, through surf and psychedelic. A true musical melting pot where every artist maintains a unique connection, near or far, with the blues. And since we’re at the Bota, alongside established acts already well known to aficionados of these styles, a large place will be given to emerging groups — those who represent the future of these scenes, pushing the boundaries of their genre, innovating, exploring…
On Saturday, November 15, you’ll be able to enjoy an eclectic and international line-up where folk, psychedelic rock, Americana and many other genres will resonate across our three emblematic venues: l’Orangerie, la Rotonde and the Museum.
Among the must-see artists, we are proud to welcome the legendary Jon Spencer, as well as Canadian guitar virtuoso and singer Bahamas. He will be joined by a more rock’n’roll touch embodied by Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto.
Garage sounds won’t be left aside either, with The Wytches, The Darts and French outfit TREAKS turning up the volume.
This second edition of Tough Enough still has more surprises in store for you!

Art x Gender
How to unravel gender stereotypes in the collections? The virile, brutal man; the gentle, maternal, nurturing woman, confined to domestic roles; or on the contrary, the temptress, sinner, even guilty one: examples of stereotypes deeply rooted in the collective imagination and also conveyed through art.
Through a new display, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium focus on these gender-related stereotypes. Art x Gender questions how images and artworks reinforce or challenge such representations.
Fernand Khnopff, Cécile Douard, Pierre Bonnard, Marie Laurencin, Louis Gallait, Jane Graverol, Vic Gentils, Anna Staritsky, Arman, Olga Morano ... From the 16th to the 20th century, from Lucas Cranach to Roger Raveel, nearly 30 works are exhibited for the occasion at the heart of the Old Masters Museum, some of them for the very first time.
And because the reflection does not stop at a single room, it extends throughout the collections, with a guided trail encouraging visitors to continue questioning stereotypes within the permanent displays. In addition, a new participatory program designed for 15–20 year olds is offered to school groups.
This scientific and critical perspective on a societal issue is part of a broader process of deconstruction, fully aligned with the museums’ medium-term ambition: to become an institution anchored in society, more open, and more aware of the narratives it conveys.
With the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, as part of the Alter Égales project.

EUROPALIA ESPAÑA | Biblioteca Nacional
As part of EUROPALIA ESPAÑA, the Boghossian Foundation presents Spanish artist Elsa Paricio at the Villa Empain with a series of works and installations - a poetic exploration of memory and identity.
As part of its participation in EUROPALIA ESPAÑA, the Boghossian Foundation presents Biblioteca Nacional, an exhibition designed with Elsa Paricio.
For the first time in Belgium, the Spanish artist showcases a corpus of works unfolding in the Project Space of the Villa Empain. The original scenography conceived for the exhibition revolves around the monumental work Biblioteca Nacional (2018–2025).
The fruit of six years of work, this project led Elsa Paricio to disseminate glass cylinders filled with a mixture of India ink and water across landscapes, abandoned factories, deserted houses, and natural sites in Spain. Fragile and exposed to the elements, these objects underwent a slow process of evaporation in contact with time and light, becoming silent witnesses of their environment. Their surfaces, marked with lines of ink and dust, record the traces of a memory in the making.
True ‘landscape-objects’, the cylinders compose a fragmented and poetic national library, where intimate memory and collective identity intertwine. Without imposing a definition, the work invites each visitor to project their own idea of home, territory, or country, and to reflect on the coexistence between our human time and the unyielding time of nature.
At the Villa Empain, the artist will extend her gesture by placing two glass cylinders along the exhibition route. This in situ intervention inscribes the work within the very place that hosts it, turning Biblioteca Nacional into an evolving work, destined to be completed and enriched over the course of its exhibitions.
Works on paper, videos, and an installation complete the whole.
Each piece reflects a moment in the artist’s life, thus transforming her existence into a global artistic project, in perpetual evolution.

For four unforgettable days, the entire Sablon comes alive as its merchants, galleries, and restaurants join forces to celebrate the beauty, creativity, and conviviality that define this remarkable neighborhood. Over the years, the event has grown into a true highlight of the Brussels winter season. More and more boutiques take part each year — offering special promotions, artistic showcases, and extended evening openings — creating a unique synergy between art, commerce, and gastronomy. This shared enthusiasm strengthens the spirit of unity that has always been at the heart of the Sablon, turning its streets and squares into a living stage of collaboration and celebration. The Sablon has long stood as a crossroads of art, heritage, and elegance, where history and modernity intertwine. Antique dealers and contemporary art galleries stand side by side with prestigious boutiques, chocolatiers, and master artisans, while the neighborhood’s cafés, brasseries, and fine restaurants offer a taste of Belgian excellence. Together, they shape an atmosphere that is at once sophisticated, welcoming, and timeless — a perfect reflection of the Belgian art de vivre.
At the heart of the festivities lies the Place du Grand Sablon, transformed for the occasion into a vibrant meeting place. Beneath the grand central stretch tent, visitors will find a friendly bar serving as the focal point of the event. Around it, twelve gourmet chalets invite guests to discover refined food and drinks — from artisanal specialties to festive winter treats — creating a gourmet journey in a magical setting.
As night falls, the square fills with music and laughter. DJ sets, live bands, and artistic performances light up the evenings, spreading energy and warmth beneath a canopy of lights. The atmosphere is at once festive and elegant, blending the excitement of nightlife with the charm of Brussels’ cultural heritage.
Whether you come for the shopping, the ambiance, or simply to share a moment among friends, the Nocturnes du Sablon promise an experience that captures the very essence of the city — sparkling, creative, and generous.

Art Truc Troc & Fashion
Art Truc Troc returns from November 28 to December 14, 2025, at Espace Vanderborght (Brussels): a unique event where art is traded differently! Offer an object, a service, a weekend... and leave with a work of art. A creators' market, workshops, and meetings bring 6,000 m² of accessible art to life.
For its 18th edition, Art Truc Troc will be held from November 28 to December 14, 2025, at the Espace Vanderborght (6,000 m²) in the heart of Brussels.
The concept? A different kind of art exchange. Visitors can stick a post-it note in front of each work to propose an exchange: an object, a service, a weekend, an experience... The artists then select the proposals that inspire them the most!
This year, Art Truc Troc is partnering with Brussels Fashion Days: every Saturday, the public will be able to attend exceptional fashion shows, combining art and fashion in a festive and creative atmosphere.
At the same time, a designers' market will showcase crafts, design, fashion, and illustration, offering a unique showcase of Belgian and international creativity. Visitors can also take part in workshops, activities, and performances, encouraging direct encounters with artists and designers.
Art Truc Troc is much more than an exhibition: it is a place for exchange, discovery, and sharing, where everyone becomes a participant in the world of art and fashion.
