Best for: Finding granular instances of AI brand misinformation

I recently got a demo of Waikay from SEO expert Dixon Jones (ex-Majestic) at BrightonSEO, and immediately saw its value for AI brand protection. The tool works by building a knowledge graph of your brand (using inLinks data) and compares it against what LLMs understand about you.
What stood out to me was how it tackles misinformation. Waikay extracts specific facts that LLMs assert about your brand and lets you flag incorrect ones, as an internal reminder to take further action and resolve the inaccuracy—crucial for reputation management.
The AI data sources behind the tool
Gemini (both grounded/RAG data and training data), Claude, ChatGPT, Sonar
Features
- Fact verification: The platform helps you identify incorrect information LLMs state about your brand, allowing you to track and address inaccuracies.
- Topic benchmarking: Compares your brand against competitors across individual topics, highlighting coverage gaps.
- Link health analysis: Evaluates the quality of sources citing your brand, not just counting mentions.
- Real-time monitoring: Captures brand presence across different LLMs with snapshot saving in paid plans.
Pricing
- Free plan for basic monitoring (monthly)
- Single brand: $19.95/month (8 reports)
- Multi-brand: $69.95/month (30 reports)
- Agency: $199.95/month (90 reports)
Ahrefs Brand Radar is huge database of 150M+ prompts which can help you track your brands, competitors, and core topics in AI.

You may have already started tracking a handful of self-engineered brand prompts to see how you show up in AI platforms.
Whilst that is useful for things like fact checking and understanding how AI perceives your brand, it’s often just not enough data to account for all of the variance that comes with tracking AI.
There’s also the issue that you’re engineering what you expect to see, rather than what might actually be popular.
We built Brand Radar with these kinds of things in mind:
- It shows you your AI visibility across tons of prompts and responses that you wouldn’t have thought to monitor (your unknown, unknowns).
- It lets your monitor your visibility across thousands of conversations—not just a handful—to smooth out all of the variance that comes with AI tracking, and give you the clearest visibility signals.
- It seeds each prompt with real search demand data—not synthetic assumptions—to give you an idea of the topics that are popular and most likely to matter, so that you can prioritize them.

Ahrefs Brand Radar is the best AI search tool for monitoring your brand holistically in AI, search, and across the web.
I’ve been using it since its beta launch, and constantly discover new use cases—like spotting gaps in our AI Overview visibility vs competitors, and tracking co-mentions of our brand alongside relevant topics, to understand our share of that market.
It even helped me track the impact of Google’s March Core Update on the visibility of AI Overviews, when AI overview visibility doubled.
The AI data sources behind the tool
You can track your mentions across a total of nine different indices, all in one dashboard:
- Ahrefs Site Explorer for organic search data (or “Search demand”—i.e. your branded keywords and associated traffic)
- Ahrefs Content Explorer for web results (or “Web visibility”—i.e. your brand mentions in content across the web)
- YouTube transcripts (referred to as “YouTube visibility”—i.e. your brand mentions in YouTube videos)
- AI Overviews
- AI Mode
- ChatGPT
- Gemini
- Perplexity
- Copilot

Very soon, it will also support custom query tracking.
Features
- Share of AI mentions: Analyze your brand ownership of specific topics in global regions, benchmark that visibility against competitors, and see how that performance plays out over time.
- Millions of prompts: Tap into millions of prompts, and conduct top-level, directional analysis of your brand ownership across tons of topics.
- Response excerpts: See actual AI responses with your brand highlighted, providing crucial context about how your brand is presented in AI—great for sentiment analysis and brand reputation management.
- Competitor gap analysis: Find instances of AI responses that don’t mention your brand, but do mention your competitors—then target these topics to increase your AI search visibility.
- Share of AI citations: Find out which brands are linked to in AI responses—not just mentioned—with the “Domains” report.
- Share of web mentions: Track your brand mentions in titles, content, and URLs all across the web. You can even track co-mentions of certain topics. This is incredibly useful if you’re running targeted PR campaigns, to associate your brand with certain entities and boost your AI visibility.
Pricing
Available on Ahrefs Lite Plan, from $129 per month ($108/month annually)—this includes both “Search demand” and “Web visibility” indexes.
Indexes for AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, and Gemini are available as separate add-ons from $199/month.
Best for: Analyzing bottom-funnel AI mentions

While most AI search monitoring tools try to boil the ocean, xofu goes deep on a single critical area: bottom-funnel buyer prompts. Powered by CitationLabs, it tracks when ChatGPT recommends your brand (or worse, your competitors) in high-intent purchase scenarios—the moments when real revenue is on the line.
The AI data sources behind the tool
ChatGPT alone
Features
- Bottom-funnel focus: Tracks brand mentions in high-intent buyer prompts when purchase decisions are most likely.
- Competitive ranking: Shows where your brand ranks across key bottom-of-funnel prompts compared to competitors.
- Citation analysis: Identifies which sources influence AI mentions of your brand to inform content strategy.
Pricing
Custom pricing available on request.
Best for: Simple, low-cost weekly tracking

Rather than just telling you if your brand appeared, Morningscore captures excerpts of prompt responses on a weekly basis.
It’s a very straightforward AI search visibility tool, with few bells and whistles.
Like most of the tools on this list, you have to enter your brand/competitors to begin tracking.
But, unlike most of the other tools, you are also expected to input your own prompts manually–making the setup slightly more time consuming.
The AI data sources behind the tool
ChatGPT alone
Features
- Visual verification: Provides excerpts of how and where your brand appears in ChatGPT responses.
- Weekly updates: Monitors your specified prompts and updates results every 7 days.
- Simple tracking: Input specific prompts and your brand details to start tracking.
Pricing
Included as part of Morningscore SEO packages starting at $49/month, with a separate AI beta access offer.
Best for: Measuring AI referral traffic

Ahrefs Web Analytics is a free, cookie-less, user-friendly version of GA4–and it’s also a great LLM optimization tool.
Unlike other analytics platforms, Ahrefs Web Analytics doesn’t bury AI traffic under generic “referral” sources.
It breaks out AI search visitors as a distinct channel, showing which pages get actual traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other assistants.
You can use these reports to identify which content types consistently drive AI clicks, to prioritize your AI efforts where they actually deliver measurable results.
The AI data sources behind the tool
All AI referral traffic (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, Mistral, Meta, and more)
Features
- AI traffic segmentation: Break down traffic from different AI platforms using a dedicated “LLM” channel filter.
- Real-time AI traffic reporting: Monitor AI referrals hour-by-hour to track content performance and visibility.
- Content performance analysis: See which pages are most cited by AI platforms and drive the most referral traffic.
- Geographical insights: Understand where your AI traffic is coming from to inform regional optimization strategies.
Pricing
Free access for all websites, as part of Ahrefs Webmaster Tools.

Dan Petrovic’s was one of the first-to-market with Airank. He built a tool that maps the semantic relationships between your brand and other entities in AI knowledge graphs.
It uses the DEJAN methodology of querying the LLM on a weekly basis on a “Brand-to-entity” (e.g. “List ten things that you associate with a brand called [Brand Name].”) and “Entity-to-brand” basis (e.g. “List ten brands that you associate with [Entity/Keyword]”).
It’s all about seeing how AI actually conceptualizes your brand—not just where it mentions you. Other than brands, it can track people’s names, products, services, and events.
The AI data sources behind the tool
Google and OpenAI LLMs (both grounded/RAG and ungrounded)
Features
- Entity association tracking: Maps relationships between your brand and other entities in AI models.
- Grounded vs. ungrounded analysis: Monitors brand rankings in both grounded (search-based) and ungrounded (model knowledge) AI responses.
- Location-specific monitoring: Customize tracking by location to understand regional differences in AI responses.
- Brand-entity gap analysis: Identifies entities your competitors are associated with that your brand isn’t.
Pricing
You can get a free demo for 1 brand, 1 domain, and 10 tracked phrases. Contact for custom pricing.

Am I On AI? answers the fundamental question keeping marketers up at night: “Is my brand appearing in AI at all?”
To set it up, you just input your website, select the AI model, and choose some AI suggested topics to track.
You’ll get an email that your report is in the “oven”, but it does take a little long to “bake”–we waited ~40 hours, but thankfully Am I On AI founder, Tomer Dean, has since extended our free trial.
Once ready, the report will give you an overall AI visibility score (Ahrefs shows up 69% of the time), showing you how you size up against your competitors, and which proxy-prompts generate a response that contains your brand name.
The “Competitors” tab reveals the other sites that return in those same responses, and in the “Queries” tab you’ll be able to study your ownership of 50 of those proxy-prompts (you’ll see more with a paid account).
Then you have the “Sources” tab, revealing which websites have the most influence on your AI mentions, to inform your PR and content placement efforts.
And finally, there’s the “Growth” tab which captures how your AI visibility score changes week-over-week, when the entire report gets regenerated.

Final thoughts
These are some of the best AI search monitoring tools for understanding how AI assistants perceive your brand.
That said, it is possible to track your AI search visibility without third-party tools.
You can query various AI platforms on a regular basis with consistent prompts about your brand and industry–then document the responses in a spreadsheet to monitor mentions over time.
If you do decide to invest in an AI visibility tool, start small. Pick one, and focus on fixing your biggest visibility gaps first.
