Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper is proud to take another step on its sustainability journey by supporting the Gold Standard-certified cookstove project in Nigeria, in partnership with ClimatePartner. Did you know that 87% of people in Nigeria still rely on traditional cooking methods? Open fires and basic stoves fuelled by wood, charcoal, or kerosene not only drive deforestation and carbon emissions, but also create dangerous indoor air pollution—putting women and children most at risk. By supporting the distribution of modern, fuel-efficient cookstoves, the project helps to reduce over 600,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. Beyond climate action, this project means cleaner air, healthier homes, and more time for families—not spent collecting firewood but building brighter futures.
