The European Investment Bank (EIB), in partnership with the European Commission and the EBRD, is helping revitalise 🇦🇱’s rail infrastructure—starting with the Durrës–Rrogozhinë line, a vital link along Corridor VIII connecting the Adriatic and Black Seas. With €60.5 million in EU grants 🇪🇺 and €60 million in loans, this ambitious project will: ✅ Electrify 34 km of railway; ✅ Build 4 new stations, including one serving the Albanian Riviera; ✅ Reduce congestion and pollution in coastal cities; ✅ Create jobs and boost trade; and ✅ Strengthen regional connectivity and EU integration. 🌍 Another milestone in Slovenia – OTP Group strengthens its presence with a local fund management company. OTP Group is further expanding its regional footprint: OTP Alapkezelő (OTP Fund Management) and OTP banka, Slovenija will jointly acquire Primorski skladi, d.o.o., Koper investment fund management company with more than three decades of experience. 🏦 OTP has been present in Slovenia since 2019 with the acquisition of SKB Bank, followed by the purchase of the Nova KBM Group in 2023. After last year’s successful merger of the two institutions under the OTP banka, Slovenija brand, the Group now takes the next strategic step by entering the local asset management market. 📈 The Slovenian investment fund market has nearly doubled over the past five years. This acquisition will not only broaden OTP banka Slovenia’s product portfolio with local funds. OTP Fund Management is further expanding its regional presence. In addition to its operations in Bulgaria, Croatia, Ukraine, and Serbia, and its home market of Hungary, the company will be active in a sixth country across the region. 💬 “The acquisition of the Slovenian asset management company is of strategic importance, as it further strengthens our presence in the Slovenian capital market,” highlighted Attila Bánfi, Chairman of the Board of OTP Fund Management and Managing Director of OTP Global Markets. “OTP banka is one of the leading players in the Slovenian market. This acquisition allows us to broaden our product portfolio, deliver more tailored solutions for retail and corporate clients, and further strengthen our long-term commitment to customers in Slovenia,” said András Hámori, Chairman of the Management Board of OTP banka Slovenia. ➡️ Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to be closed in the first quarter of 2026.
