🎂 ATSE officially turns 50 today. On 6 November 1975, the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences was officially incorporated as a public company. Since then, we've elected 1480 Fellows to our Academy. In 1987 we added Engineering to our name to reflect the range of innovators in our Fellowship. For 50 years, ATSE has been the home of visionary engineers, scientists and technologists who have shaped Australia’s innovation landscape. This anniversary is a chance to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our Fellows across five decades, and a celebration of the ideas and impact that continue to define our Academy. As we look back on half a century of breakthroughs, we also honour the thousands of years of First Nations knowledge, ingenuity and innovation that sit at the heart of learning, discovery and collaboration on this land. That legacy inspires us as we champion the next generation of STEM leaders. Since 1975, our Fellows have delivered world-class solutions that strengthen industry, advance society and build a more resilient and prosperous Australia. Their expertise continues to guide the diverse and impactful workforce of tomorrow, nurturing students, emerging researchers and industry innovators to lead with curiosity, courage and purpose.
