  • AusBiotech was pleased to co-host a high-level roundtable: National Health and Medical Research Strategy (NHMRS) – Industry and Commercialisation Focus Session at the AusBiotech International Conference 2025. The session brought together senior representatives from government, industry, and research to discuss practical actions outlined in Focus Area 4: 'Driving impact through research translation, innovation and commercial solutions' within the draft NHMRS and how this intersects with the Strategic Examination of Research and Development (SERD). AusBiotech CEO Ms Rebekah Cassidy co-chaired the session alongside Ms Rosemary Huxtable AO PSM, Chair of the NHMRS, with Dr Kate Cornick, panel member for SERD, contributing key insights. We thank all attendees, including representatives from the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHA), SERD, the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) and MTPConnect for their valuable contributions to this solutions-focused discussion on advancing Australia’s research translation and commercialisation outcomes.
