It was an honour to have Her Excellency the Honorable Sam Mostyn AC, Australia’s Governor-General, visit Beyond Blue on World Mental Health Day. The Governor-General has a very special connection to Beyond Blue as our former Chair and now our Patron.   The highlight was hearing the diverse stories and lived insights from a gathering of community members – Speakers, Blue Voices members, and volunteers and those who support others through our services.   Her Excellency’s visit coincided with our “thank-a-thon” event, celebrating the start of Beyond Blue’s 25th year serving the community.   For 25 hours on Thursday and Friday, our staff gathered to make phone calls to donors and supporters – not to ask for donations, but to simply say ‘thank you’ and acknowledge how they’re helping Beyond Blue change lives and save lives every day.   Every two minutes, someone reaches out to the Beyond Blue Support Service for free, immediate counselling, advice and referral. The service is available right around the country, operates 24/7, and is funded entirely by donations, philanthropy, and corporate partners.   So, when we say Beyond Blue exists to serve the community, it is owned by the community, and it’s powered by the community, we mean it.   The Beyond Blue Support Service is available on 1300 22 4636 or https://lnkd.in/gcyMhy4H or visit Beyond Blue’s Forums.

  • 💙💌 We're proud to partner with Australia Post to launch the Journey to Wellbeing stamp series. The new stamp series features artwork from lived experience community members, highlighting personal stories of resilience, mindfulness, and connection. Beyond Blue CEO Georgie Harman AO said: “At Beyond Blue, we know that small, everyday actions can make a big difference to our mental health. The Journey to Wellbeing stamp collection is a powerful reminder that looking after our mental health is something we can all do — and that seeking support early can change lives." The launch of the Journey to Wellbeing stamps builds on Australia Post’s partnership with Beyond Blue, established in 2020. Together, the organisations have delivered initiatives such as delivering 21 million Connection Postcards. The Journey to Wellbeing stamp issue is available now at participating Post Offices, via mail order, and online (link in comments).
