Ahead of Bandanna Day last week, News Corp shone a light on Youth Ambassador Leavea's story. She spoke with journalist Georgia Palgan about what it’s really like when cancer disrupts your life at 16. Leavea was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive bone cancer just days after her birthday. “When I got the news that I had osteosarcoma all I could think about was death. All the dreams, all the goals that I had for my life just disappeared in that second.” What followed was a decision no teenager should ever face: “It was either save my leg or save my life. I can’t do both.” Today, Leavea is part of Canteen's youth leadership program and proudly advocates for other young Aussies facing cancer. 💚 📷 Jonathan Ng

🌏 More languages, more access, more support. Our 'Guide to Canteen' resource, which includes everything you need to know about who we are and how we help young people impacted by cancer, is now available in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Dari, Filipino, Thai and Vietnamese. Plus, our 'Living with Cancer' guide continues to be available in these languages! With 5.8 million Australians speaking a language other than English at home, we’re excited to be helping more young people access vital cancer support in their own language. A sincere thank you from our CEO, Siona Hardy, to everyone who supported Bandanna Day last Thursday. To the teams who wore bandannas together, the workplaces that decorated their offices, the businesses that sold boxes at the counter, and the organisations that encouraged staff to get involved - your support helped send a powerful message of solidarity, helping young people find strength, hope and life in the face of cancer. 💚💙 #BandannaDay

Did you see us on ABC Breakfast News last week? 🎥 Our incredible youth ambassador Louise stepped into the spotlight on Bandanna Day to share her story of being diagnosed with cancer at 23, and the reality of watching life move on around you while you’re stuck in treatment. Through Canteen, Louise found a community where she finally felt seen, understood and supported. Now, as a youth ambassador, she is using her voice to help other young Aussies discover that same sense of belonging. 💚 A huge thank you to everyone who bought a bandanna or donated - your support helps young people like Louise feel less alone. 💙 Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)

Bandanna Day is almost here - a national day to rock a bandanna and show support for young Australians impacted by cancer. Canteen relies on kind and generous supporters for 80% of our funding, and every $7 bandanna sold helps provide life-changing support. Tomorrow, wear your bandanna proudly, decorate the office in bandanna bunting, snap a team photo, or visit one of our street stalls in major cities during your lunch break. Find your nearest location here: https://lnkd.in/gG9ZeeEm A huge shoutout to oa agency - Optimisation Australia, who never fail to go all out for Bandanna Day! 🎥 Let’s make this #BandannaDay one to remember. 💚

Last Bandanna Day, our teams had a blast connecting with communities, raising awareness, and selling bandannas to support young Australians impacted by cancer. 💚 We met thousands of generous supporters who showed up with heart and colour for our biggest fundraiser of the year - and we loved seeing Aussies from every corner of the country get behind it. This Thursday (30 Oct), Bandanna Day is back - bigger, bolder, and brighter! 💥 Our staff will be out across major cities, so stop by, say hello, and pick up a $7 bandanna to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. See our previous post for street sale locations. #BandannaDay #CanteenAustralia
