The inaugural Pharmacy Choice and healthSAVE Elevate Pharmacist and Retail Training Event launched with infectious energy - Friday 4 July, in Sydney Elevate offered members educational sessions for pharmacists, retail managers and assistants, aimed at helping meet patient needs and connect with other like-minded independent pharmacies that are at the ‘heart of their local community’. Our member event featured several industry-leading guest speakers who provided valuable insight as the pharmacy industry continues to evolve. The Pharmacist forum kicked off with Peppe Raso from the Pharmacy Guild discussing 8CPA and full scope of practice, followed by Nikita Dalla Venezia and Jarrod McMaugh from the PSA, who explored the role of S3 vapes in harm minimisation. The forum concluded with Louise Mclean from Capital Chemist ACT, who spoke about dispensing medical cannabis in community pharmacy. In the Retail room, Mal Scrymgeour from Zumo Retail offered pragmatic advice that was both insightful and entertaining in the field of retail excellence. Pharmacist Marina Mikhaeil, PCHS Pharmacy Programs and Services Manager, shared “We had outstanding engagement from pharmacists at Elevate. Our pharmacists demonstrated sincere commitment to evolving as primary health care providers and developing their practice as community pharmacists. I am honoured to play a small part in their professional journey and experience with the PCHS group.’’ Cameron Macklin, General Manager PCHS & Merchandise, said “Elevate is our latest initiative to support member pharmacies in providing the best care to their patients and becoming the trusted heath destination in their local community. We are thrilled with positive feedback from our members who attended Elevate and are already planning for an even bigger event next time.”
