Australia recently marked World Mushroom Day with a celebration of flavour and versatility. 🍄 In partnership with culinary favourite Courtney Roulston, Australian Mushrooms launched three globally inspired recipes, Spiced Mushroom Tacos, Mushroom Katsu Sandwiches, and Spicy Honey-Soy Mushroom Noodles – all designed to inspire everyday meals. With the theme “travel around the world with mushrooms”, the campaign reached over 23 million Australians, appearing across major media outlets and sparking conversation around mushrooms as a versatile ingredient. 👏 A big thank you to those who helped bring the campaign to life. We are excited to announce the launch of the Horticultural Industry Internship Program - a new project being developed in partnership with Western Sydney University (WSU) to give students real-world experience in horticulture and help build a skilled, job-ready workforce for the future. A new national project is rolling out to help Australian banana growers stay ahead of pest and disease threats. Backed by Hort Innovation and Australian Banana Growers, it’s all about smarter surveillance, hands-on grower training, and stronger industry resilience. 🍌🛡️ The project will deliver practical tools, multi-pest surveillance protocols, pest ID resources, and best practice guidelines. Growers will get hands-on training in disease detection and containment, with a focus on threats like Banana Bunchy Top Virus (BBTV) and Leaf Spot.
