💎 A strong discussion at DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre)'s Lab Grown Diamond Symposium on how diamond is moving from material to compute! Our COO Andrew Dunn outlined a practical path from research to deployment, showing how room temperature diamond #quantum accelerators can sit beside CPUs and GPUs and why #collaboration across growers, device makers, and investors matters. Thank you to the organizers and fellow panellists for an insightful session! #quantumtechnology #emergingtech #innovation #leadership
From Mass to Meaning at DMCC’s Lab Grown Diamond Symposium at the Almas Tower. Panel 4 on LGD in Tech showed how diamond is moving from material to compute. The most compelling thread was Andrew Dunn, Chief Operating Officer at Quantum Brilliance, describing a path from research to deployment that the wider chip ecosystem can plug into. The context is urgent. AI data centers are straining under heat and diamond is an exceptional thermal conductor, but the bigger leap is diamond as the substrate for quantum acceleration. In engineered nitrogen vacancy centers the spin states are protected by the rigid lattice, allowing superposition and optical readout at room temperature. That turns diamond into practical compute rather than a lab curiosity. Four reasons this matters now. One, Quantum Brilliance builds room temperature quantum accelerators that integrate beside CPUs and GPUs. Two, the technology is already installed with respected partners including Fraunhofer IAF and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to develop hybrid high performance workflows. Three, the software stack including Qristal and a virtual QPU lets teams prototype and schedule workloads today while mirroring the interface of physical hardware. Four, Andrew Dunn’s mandate and background unite deep physics, Arm style ecosystem strategy and financial discipline to scale through the existing semiconductor supply chain. How can lab grown players, tech companies, investors and other ecosystem participants best come together to unlock further breakthroughs?
