🌟 There’s no better way to celebrate the Year of Quantum than with such a brilliant panel at last week’s AusBiotech Conference! The Gala Dinner panel (Mark Luo, Nicole Jenkins, Nikolai Dontschuk, Liam Hall Allison Kealy) discussed the important role of #quantum #technology in the future of biotech; how diamond, as a material, can drive breakthrough advances in healthcare, new drug discovery, and pathology diagnostics. A huge thanks to Merck Life Science, and especially to Sarah Fardy, for her leadership and vision in inspiring the diamond quantum community. 💎 If you attended, you might have also received a uniquely designed lapel pin featuring a diamond set on the map of Australia, a tribute to Melbourne’s growing strength in quantum diamond innovation! #quantumtechnology #emergingtech #innovation #leadership #collaboration #quantumsensing #futureofsensing

💎 Moving diamond from Carats to Qubits! A newly released report by DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) highlights the momentum behind lab grown diamond as both creative medium and strategic material. “Innovation cycles in semiconductors, #quantum technologies, and energy systems strongly suggest that lab-grown diamonds are poised to shift from niche adoption to mainstream high-tech relevance over the next decade.” 💎 For quantum, the takeaway is clear: devices built around an integrated diamond quantum chip can operate at room temperature and be integrated into standard electronics and data center workflows; delivering significant value for quantum sensing and computing. A few practical enablers stand out if we want to turn that potential into products at scale: ▫️ Scaling needs material quality, reproducibility, and resilient supply chains, not only lab breakthroughs. ▫️ Industry-wide standards are important to build confidence. ▫️ Near term opportunity is in sensing, which can reach customers sooner than full compute stacks. Realising this potential calls for closer collaboration between growers, device makers, investors, and policymakers to align material quality, reproducibility, and manufacturing readiness at scale. 💎 Earlier this month, our colleague Bianca Sawyer joined leaders from Fujitsu and Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre to discuss the intersection of AI, data centres, and clean energy at the 2025 Australia-Japan Innovation Alliance Forum in Perth. As demand for AI continues to surge, balancing data centre capability and energy efficiency will be essential. Bianca highlighted how deploying QB’s compact, diamond-based QPUs directly into standard data centre infrastructure is paving the way for scalable and tightly integrated classical-#quantum hybrid computer systems that could deliver higher performance per watt, helping reduce the energy demand of AI workloads. Thank you to the Australia Japan Business Co-operation Committee (AJBCC), Fujitsu, and Pawsey for an engaging conversation on collaboration, clean technology leadership, and sovereign capability, and for the opportunity to explore how building partnerships across Japan’s technology ecosystem can accelerate innovation! #quantumtechnology #emergingtech #innovation #collaboration #leadership #womenintech #womeninscience #womeninstem

💎 A strong discussion at DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre)'s Lab Grown Diamond Symposium on how diamond is moving from material to compute! Our COO Andrew Dunn outlined a practical path from research to deployment, showing how room temperature diamond #quantum accelerators can sit beside CPUs and GPUs and why #collaboration across growers, device makers, and investors matters. Thank you to the organizers and fellow panellists for an insightful session! #quantumtechnology #emergingtech #innovation #leadership From Mass to Meaning at DMCC’s Lab Grown Diamond Symposium at the Almas Tower. Panel 4 on LGD in Tech showed how diamond is moving from material to compute. The most compelling thread was Andrew Dunn, Chief Operating Officer at Quantum Brilliance, describing a path from research to deployment that the wider chip ecosystem can plug into. The context is urgent. AI data centers are straining under heat and diamond is an exceptional thermal conductor, but the bigger leap is diamond as the substrate for quantum acceleration. In engineered nitrogen vacancy centers the spin states are protected by the rigid lattice, allowing superposition and optical readout at room temperature. That turns diamond into practical compute rather than a lab curiosity. Four reasons this matters now. One, Quantum Brilliance builds room temperature quantum accelerators that integrate beside CPUs and GPUs. Two, the technology is already installed with respected partners including Fraunhofer IAF and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to develop hybrid high performance workflows. Three, the software stack including Qristal and a virtual QPU lets teams prototype and schedule workloads today while mirroring the interface of physical hardware. Four, Andrew Dunn’s mandate and background unite deep physics, Arm style ecosystem strategy and financial discipline to scale through the existing semiconductor supply chain. How can lab grown players, tech companies, investors and other ecosystem participants best come together to unlock further breakthroughs?
