Congratulations to the 2025 recipients of the Bill Williams and John Short Scholarship – a valued program that has, for more than six years, supported the ongoing learning and development of RFDS staff in SA and the NT. This scholarship is made possible thanks to Bill Williams, a long-time supporter of the RFDS with deep ties to the outback. With more than 50 years of involvement – first as a bush policeman and resident of remote Australia – Bill has witnessed the challenges of delivering health care in the most isolated areas of our country. He’s even guided RFDS aircraft to land safely on remote airstrips after dark. After the passing of his partner, John Short, Bill chose to honour their shared values in a deeply practical way – by helping to grow the skills of those who provide life-saving care. We thank Bill for his enduring commitment and generous support – and we celebrate the dedicated staff whose learning journeys he continues to empower. Our scholarship recipients for 2025 are: Chloe Gore, Mel Roberts and (pictured below) Edisson Garcia, Bilal Ghouze and Amber Cribb.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Aeromedical Simulator was proud to attend the 2025 Mundi Mundi Bash last month, made possible by our valued partners Isuzu UTE Australia. With over 15,000 attendees and more than 10,000 people engaging with the Simulator, this event was a powerful opportunity to showcase the critical role the RFDS plays in delivering healthcare to remote communities. Our Simulators are more than displays, towed by an Isuzu D-MAX, they are a mobile education and engagement tool that helps Australians understand the complexity and importance of aeromedical retrievals. Events like Mundi Mundi Bash allow us to connect with the public, raise vital funds, and inspire future support. 🎪 15,000+ attendees 👣 10,000+ through the Sim 💰 Fundraising success
