Our co-CEOs Tom De Caluwé and Maurice Van Kerkhoven were in Cascais, Portugal, for the HL7® FHIR® Camp 2025 — and for the second time, they dove deep into the heart of the FHIR community. 🌍 Next to the panel discussions, this year’s edition took a creative twist, centering on BOF (Birds of a Feather) sessions — informal brainstorming gatherings where people with shared interests come together to exchange ideas freely, with no fixed agenda. From exploring conversational interoperability, FHIR R6, AI on FHIR, the use of implementation guides, MCP on FHIR, analytics, current developments in EHDS and FHIR testing, to exchanging experiences and visions with FHIR founders and thought leaders — it was another inspiring week of learning, collaboration, and connection. 💡 Even under cloudy skies, Cascais delivered its charm — great conversations, a warm atmosphere, and yes, even a quick visit to the James Bond bar. 🍸 We're proud to be part of this passionate global community, pushing the boundaries of healthcare interoperability together. Een volle zaal, inspirerende sprekers en fijne ontmoetingen. Tom De Caluwé, Maurice Van Kerkhoven, Hendrik Plaetinck en Jens Vercruysse blikken heel tevreden terug op het CoZo Symposium van vorige week. Nieuw dit jaar waren de breakout-sessies: 🔏 Peter Berghmans leidde een levendig DPO-debat rond gegevensbescherming en GDPR. 🚄 Elien De Koker nam de aanwezigen mee op de FHIR-trein en stelde een nieuw spoornetwerk voor: toekomstgericht, compatibel met de Europese infrastructuur, en klaar voor een hoge belasting – want nu al verlopen er via CoZo elke maand maar liefst 5 miljoen gegevensdelingen! 🔥 Het fundament is er. 🧪 Last week’s Clinisys Customer Summit at the iconic Hergé Museum in Louvain-la-Neuve offered plenty of inspiration and insights. One of the key topics that took center stage was the controlled sharing of laboratory results using FHIR. Both Koen Van Herck (Belgian Cancer Registry) and Heleen Masset (Sciensano) presented interesting projects touching on this theme.
