In Barcelona for the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025! Great opportunity to discover new innovations and meet many people from my network. For those who are around today (Nov. 5), at 13:30-14:15, I’m on stage in Hall 2, at the Shaping Mobility stage, in a session on “Mobility Made in Europe: Market Ready Civitas Solutions”, supported by EIT Urban Mobility. I will have the opportunity to present our work from the Horizon Europe DISCO Project, where we developed the urban access control center, as extension of Be-Mobile’s Mobility Rights platform, and that was tested for last-mile city logistics in the Stad Gent living lab. To make cities more livable and safer, many cities put urban access rights in place, think about low emission zones, pedestrian zones, school zones, and so on. Including access rights within our mobility rights platform gives cities the tools to manage these zones and rules, and allows driver communities, (like logistics service providers, bus drivers...), to check their right to access these zones. A topic that gets more and more attraction, and that I presented the last months to the parking community (at European Parking Association (EPA aisbl) conference) and bus community (at Busworld - Exhibitions), and today to the community of smart cities!

  • For Be-Mobile, providing driver communities like Flitsmeister with accurate, timely and reliable information is crucial. It is therefor essential that data we receive from public sources meets our quality standards. For this reason we actively contributed to establishing the newly published TISA RTTI 5-star rating together with TISA and other industry leaders. With data at the proper quality level, we are able to limit the latency in real-time traffic information distribution. This way Be-Mobile actively contributes to the safety, convenience and efficiency of road users.

Making Smart Mobility, a Dutch Reality - Program Manager at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Watermanagement - EMBA

Over the past years, we’ve seen that navigation apps don’t always display the most accurate or up-to-date information on speed limits, roadworks or road closures — even though public authorities often hold the correct data. Think, for example, of lane closures marked with red crosses or speed limit. To close this gap, road authorities, the European Commission, and the industry have worked closely together under the Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) mandate to establish clear, measurable quality thresholds for traffic data. The newly published TISA RTTI 5-Star Rating Standard defines what it means for data to be “good enough” to be used by service providers — setting out criteria for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. A big congratulations to TISA - Traveller Information Services Association , Google Maps, HERE Technologies, Be-Mobile, INRIX and TomTom! 💪 No easy task, and not one you had to undertake—well done for stepping up. The next step is just as important: ensuring that, once data reaches a given quality level, it is shown to road users without undue delay, and that feedback is shared when something is wrong. That mutual commitment between public and private parties is the essence of the framework. We will continue this discussion at pace with the RTTI Taskforce. 👉 I invite everyone working in mobility data — from app developers to public authorities — to review the [TISA RTTI 5-Star Rating document] and share your feedback. Looking forward to further discussions on how we can jointly make this a success story for Europe’s road users.

#SamenSlimOpWeg #Rijkswaterstaat #mobiliteit #kennisdelen #netwerken #DigitaalVerkeersmanagement #incarinfo #VMIVRA --- 🚦 Samen Slim Op Weg Event on October 8th 🚦 The world of traffic information is changing rapidly. The shift from roadside systems to in-car information services is increasing dependence on market players. This means less hardware and more customisation for road users, which offers opportunities but also raises questions. Together with Rijkswaterstaat, Mark Grefhorst and Febe Boogaerts (Be-Mobile) take us through six years of public-private partnership around Traffic Campaigns. During their session 3C in room 17, they share experiences and lessons learned about, among other things:  • Promising applications for a future-proof model  • Smart expansion of applications  • What we learned from evaluations  • Agreements and business models that balance public and private interests We know that there are several inspiring sessions running simultaneously during the Samen Slim Op Weg Event and that you sometimes have to make choices. Did you miss this session? Don't worry! 👌 You can still meet Febe and Mark afterwards during the drinks reception. It's the perfect opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas or just get to know each other. 👉 Don't miss out on this fascinating conversation! #SamenSlimOpWeg #Rijkswaterstaat #SmartMobility #SharingKnowledge #networking #DigitalTrafficManagement #incarinfo #VMIVRA

𝐈𝐧-𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐣𝐤 𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐞𝐞 (𝐍𝐋) The EU SYNCHROMODE Project provides smart traffic information for visitors during busy beach days in Noordwijk aan Zee. The beach at Noordwijk stretches for 13 kilometres along the sea, with 3 kilometres of that length bordering a boulevard and residential area. In addition to enjoying the beach itself, visitors can take part in numerous activities and events throughout the year. During the summer, especially on peak days that are influenced by weather, holidays and other factors, etc the area can become really crowded. This leads to increased travel times and difficulty finding a parking space. To manage the large number of visitors, the municipality offers a free beach shuttle during the summer months and uses a parking guidance system to inform drivers. This season, the Synchromode project is assisting the municipality of Noordwijk by providing In-car information, enabled by Be-Mobile's Traffic Campaign platform and brought to the car drivers via the Flitsmeister app. This includes: -      Notifications on the N206 about the free parking and shuttle service; -      Notifications of the decision points in Noordwijk to guide drivers along the parking route On a typical beach day, approximately 1.600 individual messages are sent for the beach shuttle, and 2.600 messages are provided for the parking guidance. In addition to the In-car traffic information, Synchromode provides the municipality with comprehensive daily management reports on the traffic status, travel times, incidents and events using the online dashboard TrafficDash enabled by MAPtm. • 🧠 We attended the Mobilidata closing event last week, a powerful moment to reflect on six years of innovation in smart mobility. We’re proud to have delivered the core technology behind Mobilidata, enabling real-life C-ITS applications, from safety warnings to smart traffic lights. Our goal is to connect Be-Mobile’s safety proposal with national access points and local C-ITS initiatives to enhance road safety. As part of our traffic safety campaign, we continue the story and will proactively send safety warnings from Mobilidata to any connected service provider. We're excited to see where this journey will take us next. 💡 What are your thoughts on the future of road safety and C-ITS in Europe? Bart Lannoo Wannes De Smet Henk Deroose

💪 European mobility is changing fast and we’re proud to be helping steer that transformation. At Be-Mobile, we don’t just follow innovation we drive it. Our team is working hands-on with leading partners to rethink how traffic flows, how roads are maintained, and how data can make mobility smarter, safer, and more sustainable. 🚦Simon Michels, Innovation Engineer, joined the SYNCHROMODE Project General Assembly in Barcelona, aligning on the next steps toward real-time, multimodal traffic management across Europe. 🛣️ Meanwhile, Bart Lannoo, Innovation Director, travelled to Zagreb to meet partners of the CAMBER Project, a project focused on smarter, data-driven road safety monitoring and maintenance strategies. What excites us? Both projects perfectly align with our 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 (Safety Hub, Insights and Campaigns): 👉 Identify safety hotspots with real-time data, 👉 Predict and prevents risks, 👉 Inform or steers vehicles with actionable insights. We’re continuously improving our products to support the goals of both projects, driving safer, smarter, and more efficient transport management across Europe. We’re not just supporting EU innovation, we’re putting it into action today. 💡 Mobility is evolving fast, and we’re proud to help shape a safer, smarter, connected future. • 🚧 Summer Is Coming - Are Our Cities Ready for the Traffic Surge? Summer events, festivals, and tourism... As traffic surges during the summer season, long queues, overcrowded parking lots, and illegal parking become hard to ignore. At Be-Mobile, we stay particularly alert to these problems. That’s why we developed 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻, to connect cities and municipalities directly with road users. Now local governments can: 👉 Engage directly with the community by sharing real-time, location-specific traffic alerts. 👉 Balance the load: inform road users on-trip about alternative routes for a stress-free journey.  👉 Send timely alerts to travelers heading to the coast based on weather forecasts, as we’re doing in Zuid-Holland as part of the SYNCHROMODE Project. 📲 Want to learn more? Reach out to Febe Boogaerts. She’ll be more than happy to tell you all about it.
