📢 EBDVF 2025 session: EU standarisation efforts in the data / AI landscape❗ 🗓️ 12-14 November 2025 📍 DGI Byen, Copenhagen, Denmark Check out the session 👉 https://lnkd.in/euuyvBsC 🎯 This session will explore current European standardization efforts in the Data and AI landscape, with a particular focus on those harmonized standards in response to European Commission requests related to an EU Trusted Data Framework and the implementation of the EU AI Act. Building on BDVA’s liaisons with CEN CLC JTC25 and JTC25, this session will address a three-fold objective: - Inform participants about the status and latest developments in the mentioned standards that address crucial aspects of EU digitalization - Identify synergies and complementarities between standardisation activities in the data and AI domains - Engage the audience to provide feedback and contribute to the standards development 🤝 In this regard, the session will bring together experts from both Technical Committees to present their work and engage with the audience. A dedicated slot is planned to collect feedback for the ongoing “Technical specification(s) on a maturity model for Common European Data Spaces” in CEN CLC JTC25, as well as an invitation to experts to contribute to areas such as data transformation and data annotation for AI in the scope of CEN CLC JTC21. 📢 EBDVF 2025 session: Reclaim the Web! Towards sovereign AI, Analytics and Search Services in Europe❗ 🗓️ 12-14 November 2025 📍 DGI Byen, Copenhagen, Denmark Check out the session 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCZTcVst 🎯 Data is a central ingredient for many European innovations and the Web is the biggest data source mankind has created. The OpenWebSearch.eu project is working to make Web data available as a resource at scale to European researchers, start-ups, innovators and industry. For this purpose, OpenWebSearch.eu is developing an open European Web data infrastructure that can be used for search, analytics and AI. The initiative supports Europe’s digital sovereignty and helps promote European competitiveness in the digital sphere. 🚀 OpenWebSearch.EU provides a prototype of the European Open Web Index, based on open-source software and deployed across various high performance computing centres in Europe. This infrastructure and the Open Web Index is particularly crucial for the provision of state-of-the-art Web search services, Web analytics and for European innovations in the domain of AI/LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (aka “AI Search”). 👍 The Open Web Index can support many research and business applications. The session will explain the need for such a public Web data infrastructure and show the achievements in the OpenWebSearch.EU project. Concrete examples of Open Web Index applications will be presented and discussed. 📢 EBDVF 2025 session: Semantics & Compliance: Enabling Trustworthy Data/AI in European Data Spaces❗ 🗓️ 12-14 November 2025 📍 DGI Byen, Copenhagen, Denmark Check out the session 👉 https://lnkd.in/eezFbYxd 🎯 As regulatory frameworks such as the AI Act, GDPR, and Data Act shape Europe’s digital future, there is an urgent need for technical approaches that embed compliance, ethics, and trustworthiness into the very design of data and AI systems. A promising enabler is the use of ontologies, semantic models, and formal methods to represent, reason about, and enforce regulatory requirements. 👍 In this session, the DICE Alliance—comprising four Horizon Europe projects funded under the DATA-01-01 topic (DATAPACT project, ACCOMPLISH, ACHILLES project, CERTAIN Project)—showcases how semantic compliance methods can help operationalise European values and regulations across diverse sectors. ☑️ After short opening statements from each project, the session will feature a moderated discussion on how semantic technologies support: - ethical and transparent AI/data operations, - automation of compliance tasks, - cross-sectoral interoperability, - and implementation of governance and trust mechanisms in European data spaces. ✔️ The discussion will highlight shared challenges and emerging best practices across projects and sectors, aiming to advance a common European approach to compliance-by-design—scalable, explainable, and built into the core of data ecosystems.
