Last week, we joined partners to celebrate the successful completion of the ACON Smart Grids CZ/SK project - a flagship initiative co-funded by #CEFEnergy. ACON (Again COnnected Networks) is the first Project of Common Interest (#PCI) jointly implemented by two distribution system operators – Západoslovenská distribučná, a.s. - Skupina ZSE (Slovakia) and EG.D (Czechia). This first-of-its-kind cooperation has strengthened the electricity grids in both countries, enhanced digitalisation and flexibility, and improved reliability for consumers across the region. Key stakeholders gathered to mark this major milestone - a great example of how #EU funds foster innovation, partnership and a smarter, greener European energy system.

🌍 𝘈 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥-𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦 🚛🤖 A remarkable milestone for autonomous freight was achieved under the #EU-funded #HorizonEU #Transport MODI Project recently: an electric, driverless truck successfully crossed the border between Sweden and Norway at Ørje customs station - without a driver on board. 🔵 The demonstration, led by project partner Einride, marks the first-ever driverless cross-border journey and showcases how digital customs and connected mobility can enhance freight efficiency, safety, and sustainability across Europe. 🚦The truck drove across the border twice: first with a green customs declaration, and then a red customs declaration where the car must stop for further inspectionand both worked smoothly! Stakeholders united for a sustainable and resilient Black Sea last week! At the 3rd edition of the Black Sea Stakeholders Conference in Constanța, over 200 participants from across the region – from researchers and entrepreneurs to public authorities and international organisations – came together to discuss the future of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea. Exchanges focused on shared priorities: protecting marine ecosystems, boosting innovation and investment in the blue economy, and empowering local communities. From ocean literacy and smart tourism to sustainable energy and data sharing, the conference showcased how collaboration is key to tackle joint challenges. The Conference was organised by the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea Assistance Mechanism, with the support of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
