Calling all early career Early Career Researchers, Principle Investigators and Supervisors, and career advisors - we need your input! Our COST Cross-Cutting Activity (CCA) on career development for young researchers has launched a survey to capture perspectives on career development practices and perceptions at research institutions across Europe. Career development initiatives are essential for young researchers. Yet, there are still some discrepancies between Member States and institutions in terms of working conditions and training opportunities. The CCA want to identify strengths, gaps, and good practices that can be shared transparently afterwards. Round two of our science communication best practice examples featuring DIVERSICROP (CA22146) who are developing a cookbook to tickle the senses and blend heritage with innovation. This network focuses on promoting underutilized crops like peas, rye, and chickpeas. Now they could have just told us the nutritional and environmental benefits of these crops and encouraged us to eat more of them but they want to show us practical ways of using them by developing a cookbook. Last week we closed our Open Call for new COST Action proposals. Interim analysis shows: 🚀 highest number of submitted proposals ever ️☯ very interdisciplinary submissions 🤝 over 50,000 main and secondary proposers involved 📍 strongest engagement from Italy, UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands Next steps: proposals will now undergo evaluation and up to 70 new Actions will be approved in May 2026.
