Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes - EEIP reposted this
📢 The Commission launched today (1 Aug) a public consultation and the Call for Evidence for the upcoming Circular Economy Act. The feedback period is open until 6 November 2025. https://lnkd.in/gHmtXWpz It marks a significant step in the impact assessment process, which will enable the Commission to gather input from a wide range of stakeholders and the broader public, thereby better understanding the bottlenecks and opportunities for the wider deployment of a circular economy. The Circular Economy Act aims to accelerate the transition to a more circular economy, increasing the EU’s economic security, resilience, competitiveness and decarbonisation. Due for adoption in 2026, it aims to establish a Single Market for secondary raw materials, increase the supply of high-quality recycled materials and stimulate demand for these materials in the EU. This follows recommendations from the Letta and Draghi reports, industry (in the Antwerp Declaration), the European Council (Budapest Declaration) and Parliament. The Circular Economy Act will contribute to the ambition set out in the Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal to make the EU the world leader on the circular economy by 2030 and to double the EU circularity rate. This consultation will also allow the Circular Economy Act to align with key EU initiatives, such as the Competitiveness Compass, the Single Market Strategy, the Steel and Metals Action Plan and the implementation of relevant recently adopted legislations, such as the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the Critical Raw Materials Act. All stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the online consultation using the Have Your Say portal. The feedback period is open until 6 November 2025. #CircularEconomy #EUCompetitiveness #GreenTransition #SustainableIndustry #Decarbonisation #RecycledMaterials #ResourceEfficiency #EURegulation #EconomicSecurity #EcoInnovation #SecondaryRawMaterials #WasteToValue #EnvironmentalPolicy #SingleMarket #CircularBusinessModels #CallForEvidence #HaveYourSay #EUGreenDeal #SustainableGrowth
