Why you should join Our special guest Christiane Eberhardt will present and discuss together with the authors Harry Stolte and Georg Spöttl the recent study “Microcredentials – Potential, Limitations, and Applicability of the Concept in Labor Market-Related Vocational Training Systems”, commissioned by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung (BIBB) The study highlights that while microcredentials are seen as a key instrument for lifelong learning and flexible education pathways, their integration into dual vocational training systems (company-based and industry-linked systems) raises fundamental questions around competence orientation, quality assurance, recognition practices and the preservation of strengths in the traditional system. We will also present the MiCRET Policy Experimentation initiative and how microcredentials may be considered for integration and recognition within national and regional VET systems, with a special focus on specific activities in the Piedmont Region.
