How do cultural and creative industries shape wellbeing? Does network governance really work? How can policy support cultural rights at best? Join us on 5 December for the next meeting of the #ResearchPlatform. Researchers from the #ENCATCJournal will lead us in a journey with analyses, insights, and findings on culture and wellbeing, decolonisation of cultural policy, and governance in urban regeneration. Laura Valoma, Kostica Dragana Ph.D., and Jordi Sanjuán Belda will introduce their articles published in the ENCATC Journal, showcasing the multidisciplinary perspective of their publications. How to quantify the impact of art? Cleopatra Charles will be on stage during the next #ENCATC Talk on 28th November to introduce the innovative FACE framework, a method designed to measure the intangible value of the arts. Cleopatra will go deeply into how #art can be measured through financial aspects, artistic value, long-term contribution to the community, and #engagement. The Talk will be the opportunity to address the double bind faced by #artleaders today: they are asked to quantify their impact in a world that insists on numbers, while the most meaningful #outcomes of their work, like joy, meaning, and community transformation, are often intangible. ENCATC reposted this
EFA presented its activities to a group of 30 Italian cultural professionals from the Fondazione Fitzcarraldo ETS and its CRPC - Advanced Course for Cultural Project Managers - last week in Brussels. Together with Culture Action Europe, Europa Nostra and ENCATC, EFA presented to the participants the specificities of European cultural networks supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission and the importance of cross-border work. The presentations were followed by a discussion on the role of networks, exploring how they contribute to strengthening culture as a democratic infrastructure and common good in Europe. Discover now the steps EFA has taken in 2024 and 2025 around Cultural Rights & Artistic Freedom: https://lnkd.in/ePuddVhC

On 21st November, Oriol Freixa Matalonga, Project Officer at the UNESCO Liaison Office in Brussels, will present the main outcomes from the #MONDIACULT2025 conference. 🌐 The digital transformation has had profound effects on all areas of the cultural sector. It has opened broad access to cultural knowledge and works while enabling the erection of silos and gathering of narrow, solipsistic communities. 🤖 The advent of Generative Artificial Intelligence, it has brought astonishing new tools for creation within general reach, while creating immense ethical dilemmas surrounding intellectual property and creative voice. 📘With the goal of improving our understanding of the emerging trends and impact of digital technologies, we have recently launched a special issue of the #ENCATCJournal on digital technologies and culture, one of the key topics of this year's edition of #MONDIACULT. Learn more and submit your contribution to this special issue edited by Emma Duester, Doug DeNatale, and Dan Green, Ph.D. on https://lnkd.in/dqHxy9ep

📃 "The Economy of Culture – looking back, reflecting forward": you can now submit your contribution for this special issue of the #ENCATCJournal. 📌 Aligned with one of the #MONDIACULT priorities and coordinated by Matina Magkou, Avril Joffe, Richard G. Maloney, PhD, FRSA, and Dorota Ilczuk, this special issue invites contributions that explore the multifaceted relationship between culture and the economy. 📊 The emergence of the #creativeindustries paradigm has led to increased investment and institutional backing, giving rise to #policy frameworks that often emphasize the instrumental value of culture. However, this dominant discourse frequently overlooks the material realities that underpin #cultural production. 📋 Will your contribution improve our understanding about the intersections between #economicvalue, cultural labour, and policy? Submit your paper and help us bridge disciplinary perspectives, nurturing both theoretical reflection and policy-oriented analysis. 👇 Learn more on the special issue and paper submission on https://lnkd.in/d29_dgQw Frontiers Frontiers - Publishing Partnerships

ENCATC mourns the passing of Sofia Corradi, affectionately known as “Mamma Erasmus”, whose vision and dedication transformed European education and shaped generations of young people. As a network deeply rooted in education, we commemorate her intuition to give life to one of the pioneering initiatives for education in the European Union. Sofia Corradi’s legacy will continue to inspire policymakers and cultural leaders who believe that learning and mobility can unite students and educators in a shared journey of growth beyond borders.

We are proud to continue our commitment to the future of cultural policy as two of our contributions to #MONDIACULT2025 have been recently accepted in the MONDIACULT Digital Library. The outcomes of our focus groups on Culture and Education and Culture and Climate Action have been published in this new initiative by UNESCO, inaugurated to collect diverse contributions on cultural policies and the impact of culture in all its dimensions. These publications reflect the commitment of our board and members in shaping the global conversation on culture and sustainable development. They were possible thanks to the work carried out by the chairs of the focus groups on Culture and Education, Gerald Lidstone and Lluís Bonet, and on Culture and Climate Action, Elena Borin and Prof. Dr. Leticia Labaronne. Cultural and creative organizations can play a key role in promoting inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development. A new article recently published in the #ENCATCJournal offers a systematic review of theoretical contributions and empirical studies to assess the potential of CCIs as drivers of individual and collective wellbeing. Beyond their #economic significance, cultural and creative industries are considered in light of their capacity to generate #symbolic value, stimulate creativity, foster innovation, and shape cultural participation. Read the paper to learn more and discover the new conceptual framework proposed by the authors: https://lnkd.in/dbHJiTwv #Research #ENCATC
