#Commissioning activities at our energy recovery plant in Willebroek are progressing. The steam generator has been successfully boiled out. The milestone ✅ of first steam blowing has been reached. But 🤔, why are we generating clouds of water in this project phase? Steam blowing 💨 is a cleaning method where the energy & speed of steam is used to remove physical impurities from boiler parts and the interconnecting piping. Even minor 🔎 impurities could damage steam turbine blades or cause corrosion during operation. The boil-out condensate containing cleaning agents has been collected and disposed of properly. Milestones reached & ahead: ✅ Start of steam blowing (Callens-Vyncke & Mecwide) 🔜 First fire combusting syngas (Callens-Vyncke) 🔜 Commissioning of the flue gas treatment (LUEHR FILTER GmbH) 🔜 First synchronization of the steam turbine (TGM Kanis Turbinen GmbH) Many thanks 👏 to everyone involved. The safe & successful commissioning until start of operation of the energy recovery plant at Imerys is a joint effort 💪 to be continued #together ... #EONEnergyInfrastructureSolutions #EnergyTransition #Teamwork #Energy

#SportChallenge target 🎯 achieved! Thanks to a serious catch-up over the last weekend and a nice walk together at the end of the challenge, we have achieved 💪 our ambitious goal of 500 workout hours with a total of 502 hours! It’s the result of twenty-one employees tracking sports activities over the month of September. Figures at a glance: 🌍 7 countries 🤸 21 employees 📅 30 days of challenge 🏃 502 hours of exercise 🎁 1.004 Euro donation to Berrefonds VZW Thanks 👏 everyone for participating! Exercising for at least 3 hours a week reduces the risk of numerous diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, etc.), so keep on moving! The Berrefonds is a Belgian association supporting parents, grandparents, family and friends when the unthinkable happens: the loss of a child. Another milestone ✅ has been achieved at our energy recovery plant at Imerys in Willebroek. With the milestone ‘First Fire’ 🔥, the burner was commissioned with natural gas successfully, resulting in a stable flame while generating the first steam. During the commissioning phase, natural gas will be used for testing, and later, to start up the plant with syngas as main fuel source. ‘First fire’ marks 🚩 the start of the hot commissioning phase. During this phase, the systems are tested under real, operational conditions 🌡, introducing actual fluids and fuels. In the coming months, the plant's performance will be tested to ensure it produces the desired output and has the required flexibility 📊 and reliability. Milestones reached & ahead: ✅ First fire with natural gas (Callens-Vyncke) 🔜 Steam blowing to clean the piping (Callens-Vyncke & Mecwide) 🔜 First fire combusting syngas (Callens-Vyncke) 🔜 First synchronization of the steam turbine (TGM Kanis Turbinen GmbH) Many thanks 👏 to our customer, suppliers, employees and everyone involved. The next phase will be challenging and can only be successfully managed #together. Safety 👷 will remain the highest priority during the hot commissioning and will be our primary focus. #EONEnergyInfrastructureSolutions #EnergyTransition #Partnerships #Energy #HSE

🌍 Today is World Cogeneration Day! A day to celebrate the benefits of cogeneration – the process of reusing waste heat ♨️ from power generation ⚡️ for industrial processes or heating. It increases overall efficiency and reduces carbon emissions. Cogeneration continues to play an important role in the security of energy supply for both power and heat. Grid stabilization 📊 services become increasingly important with more renewables coming online. The flexibility & efficiency of cogeneration can nowadays even be further increased 📈 by adding other technologies such as heat pumps & power-to-heat. Many thanks 👏 to our customers, partners, suppliers, employees and especially to the operation & maintenance teams for keeping cogeneration plants running reliably throughout the year. Special appreciation goes to COGEN Europe and COGEN Vlaanderen for promoting cogeneration and its benefits to policy makers. Interested 🤔 about cogeneration and other solutions we offer to reduce energy costs and CO₂ emissions of your production site: 👉 Check out our website: www.eon.be/en.html #EONEnergyInfrastructureSolutions #WorldCogenerationDay #EnergyTransition #Cogeneration #CHP

This year’s #SportChallenge for charity (see below ⬇️) starts on 1 September. Over a period of 30 days, the employees of E.ON Power Plants Belgium will use a self-developed app to record their sports activities. The objective: jointly reach a total of 500 workout 🏃♀️ hours. Cycling, running, walking, fitness … every minute ⏱ counts! The #SportChallenge 2025 is dedicated to Berrefonds VZW – a Belgian association supporting parents, grandparents, family and friends when the unthinkable happens: the loss of a child. For every hour of sports, E.ON will donate two euros to encourage those affected and help them getting support 🫂 when it is most needed.
