We unite socio-cultural centres and their networks across Europe and beyond, for training, advocacy and cooperation.
About us
The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) promotes dialogue and cooperation between social-oriented cultural centres throughout Europe. It is both a network of direct members and a ‘network of networks’. Today, the ENCC connects over 3000 cultural organisations in 27 countries, with very diverse structures, practices and audiences. We align on values of cultural equality, active citizenship, intercultural diversity and sustainability. The ENCC’s main action lines are capacity building, networking and advocacy. We organise meetings, conferences, training and staff exchanges, participate in research and data-gathering, create tools and publications, and connect with other actors from the cultural sector. We also support social and cultural innovation by mentoring international cooperation projects. Empowering cultural centres and their communities is our priority. The ENCC is co-funded by the Creative Europe networks strand of the European Union.

#Incubator2025Istanbul is underway, with 22 project proposals selected by our experts to be fine-tuned and submitted for European funding over the course of the next months. Like every edition of the programme, this one too started with a retreat, held earlier this month, which gave selected participants a chance to get to know each other and their trainers. With the heart of #Istanbul as the backdrop, socio-cultural workers from all over Europe and neighbouring regions started shaping and pitching their project ideas, drawing inspiration from the city's vibrant cultural life. Special thanks to Sanatatak for hosting us. #Incubator is our flagship training programme that helps cultural workers bring their project ideas to the European level. Yesterday, Mara and Michaela from the ENCC office attended the fourth European Heritage Hub Forum in Brussels. Organised by Europa Nostra, the Forum is the biggest summit on #Europeanheritage, gathering local, national, and European-level stakeholders. The event aimed at building momentum around three policy goals: - Ensure that the #CultureCompass is responsive to the realities and needs of local communities and civil society in terms of #heritage; - Push for direct access to EU #funding for local civil society actors in the sector; - Promote multi-level #governance, extending from cities and regions to the EU level. The insights gathered at the event will feed into our work for the Horizon Europe project HeritACT. #HubForum #CulturalHeritage #HeritACT
