Unlocking the enormous offshore wind potential of the Northern Seas takes cooperation Today at the NSEC ministerial meeting in Ostende (Belgium) the Offshore TSOs Collaboration (OTC), consisting of 12 European electricity TSOs, published a Cooperation Paper jointly with WindEurope and with HyNOS – the cooperation of seven Northern Seas Hydrogen TSOs. This Cooperation Paper sets out a practical, interface-oriented approach to regional offshore infrastructure planning in the Northern Seas. It aligns planning and build-out of: • offshore electricity grids by OTC; • offshore wind development by WindEurope; • offshore hydrogen networks by HyNOS. The aim is to accelerate Europe’s energy transition and strengthen the resilience of our energy system. Giles Dickson, CEO WindEurope: “This is a really welcome collaboration between the TSOs and offshore wind farm developers on the planning of the offshore electricity grid. Those generating renewable energy offshore and those bringing it ashore and to its destination must work closely together from an early stage.” Christoph von dem Bussche, CEO GASCADE Gastransport GmbH and representing HyNOS: “Hydrogen is an important energy carrier in the decarbonisation strategy of Europe. Offshore hydrogen production - integrated in the offshore electricity grid – can be a key enabler for the successful build-out of offshore wind energy. Therefore, a close collaboration around the Northern Seas between electricity TSOs, hydrogen TSOs and wind park developers is essential to create synergies in the build-out of the future energy infrastructure system.” This Cooperation Paper marks a strong step towards an affordable, secure , and integrated offshore energy grid for Europe. 📢 Fluxys c-grid designated as CO₂ Transport Network Operator for Flanders, appointed by the Flemish Government! 🚨 This follows our July designation in Wallonia and strengthens our mission to build a CO₂ transport network that connects Belgian and neighbouring industries to long-term storage solutions. Founded in 2023 by Fluxys, SOCOFE, Pipelink and SFPIM, we’re developing open-access infrastructure to support industrial decarbonisation. 💬 Pascal De Buck, Chairman of Fluxys c-grid: "We’re proud to be appointed by the Flemish government as CNO for the CO₂ transport network in Flanders. The competitiveness of companies is under significant pressure, and crucial steps like these appointments are essential to keep industry in Europe while staying focused on decarbonisation goals." From the pipelines to the running track, Fluxys turned up the energy at Ekiden 2025! More than 70 colleagues, 11 teams, and one unstoppable wave of blue and green 🌊💙💚 running, cheering and laughing their way through 42 km of pure team spirit. Events like Ekiden remind us that wellbeing isn’t just about performance - it’s about connection, belonging and pride in what we achieve together. Celebrating 40 years of Loenhout 🎉 On September 28, our Loenhout team celebrated 4 decades of the underground gas storage site — a key part of Belgium’s energy infrastructure — together with their colleagues, partners and kids. 👨👩👧👦 The day was filled with joy, nostalgia, and a playful theme inspired by famous game characters, who also turned 40 this year! Just like them, Loenhout knows a thing or two about pipes — and about connecting generations. ✨ Our CEO Pascal De Buck thanked our Loenhout colleagues for their dedication, making Loenhout a pillar of reliability in our energy infrastructure — operating 24/7 for Belgium and beyond.
