  • Two new fully electric trucks have hit the road at Bakker Barendrecht, a Greenyard company. These additions mean that the fleet will now help reduce over 200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year. This is a perfect example of how sustainability drives everything we do, including the way we transport our produce. What's more, the vehicles are now equipped with camera systems instead of mirrors for safer transport. Our first electric truck has already travelled over 210,000 emission-free kilometres, proving that sustainable logistics are already a reality. #Greenyard #ForAHealthierFuture

  • Greenyard Prepared Bree opened its doors for a successful job event. Over 60 people joined one of our three information sessions to find out more about the vacancies we have for operators and technicians. After a company presentation and guided tour, participants had the chance to connect directly with our Operations and Technical Services colleagues during a speed dating session, leaving with new insights and a Greenyard goodie bag. The result? Several new starters will soon be joining our team, and more promising conversations are still ongoing. Thank you to everyone who took part, and to all our colleagues who helped make the event such a success.   • Earlier this year, Greenyard Prepared launched a brand-new line of Tetra Pak® cardboard packaging at its Bree, Belgium facility. This expansion of capacity opens the door to more pure-plant innovations in pulses, vegetables, sauces and soups. Made from FSC-certified paperboard, the packaging reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 80% compared to glass or tin containers, and saves space on pallets (less transport), on shelves in the stores, and in kitchen cabinets. With endless design possibilities, it is set to make healthy choices even more appealing to consumers today.     𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗱 At Fruit Attraction 2025, Fresh on Track marked a breakthrough in 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 by uniting retailers, shippers and governments to accelerate the shift of fresh transport from road to rail. The initiative will launch its 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 at the end of 2025 – a weekly multimodal service connecting 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮, 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘀𝗹𝗼. Operated by FreshRail.eu, the service will provide fixed slots, temperature-controlled containers, customs facilitation and risk-sharing through a multi-company model – making rail a reliable and scalable option for perishable supply chains. Early supporters include Coop, Ahold Delhaize and Bakker 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘁 (𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆), alongside backing from the Dutch and Spanish ministries of transport. The Fresh Train pilot is open to more participants. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱. Shippers and logistics providers with northbound or southbound flows between Spain, the Netherlands and Scandinavia are invited to join.   • Greenyard is strongly committed to supporting impactful local initiatives. In this spirit, Greenyard Frozen UK supports GroceryAid, an organisation that provides emotional, practical and financial support to people across the grocery industry when they need it most. To help raise funds, Giles Armstrong, Greenyard Frozen UK's Finance Director, took on a three-day cycling challenge from London to Amsterdam. Alongside his fellow riders, he cycled through the Essex countryside and across the Netherlands to reach his final destination in Amsterdam. The event raised an incredible £311,740, ensuring that no one in our industry has to face life's toughest moments alone.
