🔹 Today at #GISC2025 in Seoul INSTAR held a closed Korea–EU Standards Strategy Workshop, bringing together experts from Europe and the Republic of Korea to discuss strategic alignment on international ICT standardisation. The Global ICT Standards Conference (GISC) is the largest annual event in Korea dedicated to ICT standards and standards-essential patents (SEPs). Since 2017, it has served as a leading global platform for shaping the future of next-generation technologies, including AI, 6G, quantum technologies, IoT, and cybersecurity. During the workshop, a shared framework to guide joint work and deepen cooperation between the two regions was discussed. As an outcome, the high-level Priorities for International Collaboration on Standards (PICS) will be consolidated. These priorities are crucial for aligning international standardisation efforts with European strategies and policies, and for fostering a unified vision and actionable steps across key technology domains. 🇪🇺 🤝 🇰🇷 Strengthening international collaboration is key to building interoperable, trustworthy, and human-centric digital ecosystems. More updates coming soon. Stay tuned.

✍️ The signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between BluSpecs, Coordinator of the INSTAR Standards project, and the Telecommunication Technology Committee (@TTC Japan) of Japan has just taken place in Seoul. 🇪🇺 🤝 🇯🇵 The MoU was signed by Hideyuki Iwata, President and Director General of TTC, and Tanya Suarez Ph.D., the CEO of BluSpecs SL, on behalf of the INSTAR consortium. This collaboration sets the stage for the creation of an International Task Force (ITF) to advance shared priorities in key areas such as #AI, #Cybersecurity, #DigitalID, #Quantum, #IoT, #5G, #6G, and #Data. Through regular exchanges, joint deliverables, and shared participation in global events, INSTAR and TTC aim to strengthen cooperation between Europe and Japan — working together towards open, interoperable, and human-centric ICT standards. Stay tuned for more details!

📌 LIVE | #INSTAR #EU-Canada Digital Partnership Week on ICT #Standardisation Digital Governance Council | Conseil de gouvernance numérique 🎙️ Eleni Diamanti Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi 💡In Europe, there has been a strong push to build terrestrial quantum communication infrastructures. The next step in the EU strategy is to advance large-scale entanglement distribution networks, connecting national infrastructures across borders. Major industry players, including Airbus, are actively contributing to this evolution, and progress in Europe is moving fast. Canada is also a leader in this domain, especially in satellite-based quantum solutions. By cooperating on space-enabled quantum communication, we can accelerate both innovation and market adoption, breaking down the barriers that still limit the deployment of quantum-safe technologies.

📌 LIVE | #INSTAR #EU-Canada Digital Partnership Week on ICT #Standardisation Digital Governance Council | Conseil de gouvernance numérique 🎙️ Johanna Sepúlveda Airbus Geospatial and Secure Connectivity Solutions 💡At Airbus, we see both sides of security, as a user and as a provider, across civil and defence domains. The risk posed by quantum computing is clear, and the transition to quantum-secure capabilities is no longer optional. Our first step is adopting post-quantum cryptography, followed by integrating quantum communication as an additional layer of protection. To prepare, we’ve created an internal crypto inventory group to identify critical assets, define performance and certification needs, and ensure that both our solutions, and those we deliver to customers, meet the highest security standards for the quantum era.

📌 LIVE | #INSTAR #EU-Canada Digital Partnership Week on ICT #Standardisation Digital Governance Council | Conseil de gouvernance numérique 🎙️ Michele Mosca evolutionQ 💡Quantum computing changes everything about how we secure information. Post-quantum cryptography is not optional, it’s the next step to keep our digital world safe. Preparing early means protecting long-term value, reducing risk, and ensuring that innovation remains trustworthy in the quantum era.
