The Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Jordan, Fathima Nusrath Ghazzali, welcomed H.E. Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to IOM’s Pre-Positioning Warehouse and IOM premises. The visit included a briefing on IOM’s ongoing humanitarian response for Gaza by Karl Baker Regional Crisis Coordinator and head of IOM Gaza Response, and a tour of the facility. The Ambassador also met IOM teams in Amman to learn more about IOM’s broader interventions on migration, health, environment and climate change as well as border management. Discussions also covered the Support to Access to Justice in Jordan project, implemented by IOM Jordan in partnership with GIZ Jordan and funded by the European Union in Jordan. The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between IOM and the European Union in promoting humane and orderly migration and responding to pressing humanitarian needs in the region.

We streamlined operations, protected core functions, and launched the Resilience Campaign to safeguard the systems that allow us to act quickly, responsibly, and with integrity. These aren’t just internal reforms, they’re the backbone of our ability to deliver for migrants, governments, and communities. As we look to 2026, IOM is focused on impact: expanding safe pathways, supporting dignified returns, and investing in the digital tools and oversight mechanisms that make our work stronger and more accountable.
