The GRiT Centre at the National Centre for Integrative Oncology (NCIO) is proud to launch its first postgraduate-level training programme: a 10-week CPD course ‘Foundations of Integrative Psycho-Oncology and Trauma Competent Care’, designed for healthcare professionals and integrative practitioners working with people affected by cancer. Who is this for? Medical doctors (primary and secondary care) and surgeons at any stage of training Nurses and nursing students Allied health professionals (physiotherapy, radiography, nutrition, dietetics, psychology, etc.) Allied health trainees and students Patient navigators and support workers in the charity sector Integrative medicine professionals across the multidisciplinary team Course Structure 10 weeks | January - March 2026 3 hours per week of taught content Pre-recorded lectures available on the LMS (learning management system) and optional weekly drop-in live Q&A 3 on-site training days (Saturdays near Reading, Berkshire): 24 January, 28 February, 21 March (optional for international students) ***International applicants are very welcome! We proudly launch the Belgian Society for Integrative Oncology (BelSIO) — a multidisciplinary platform advancing science-based integrative cancer care in Belgium. 💡 As cancer survival improves, long-term side effects and quality of life have become major concerns. Integrative oncology combines conventional treatments with lifestyle strategies (e.g. exercise, managing sleep disturbances) and evidence-informed complementary therapies (e.g. mind–body practices) to improve outcomes and patient well-being. It also contributes to cancer prevention, a growing priority as healthcare costs rise. 🌍 While this approach is gaining international recognition, Belgium still lacks a coordinated network. 🇺🇸 Back from an inspiring trip to the US. After the Society for Integrative Oncology congress, I made a stop at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I was truly impressed by the Texas Medical Center at Houston and especially my visit to the Integrative Medicine Center. I really enjoyed spending quality time with Dr. Lorenzo Cohen and Dr. Gabriel Lopez, learning best practices from experts, understanding local needs and approaches in integrative oncology.
