A Historic Move for the Ages As the world counts down to the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, we look back with immense pride at our part in this monumental story. In 2021, Sarens was entrusted with one of the most delicate, precise and historically significant moves of the century: the lifting and transport of the 4600-year-old Khufu Solar Boat through the pyramids of Giza and into its new home at The Grand Egyptian Museum. A fragile sacred artifact of extraordinary cultural value moved with millimetre precision through narrow passages and ancient slopes under the eyes of history itself. Today, as Orascom Construction PLC, BESIX and all the people of Egypt prepare to unveil this wonder to the world, we stand proud to have played our role in safeguarding and moving one of humanity's greatest treasures. #Sarens #GEM #GrandEgyptianMuseum #EngineeringExcellence #Egypt #HistoryInTheMaking #TeamBlue #ItAllStartedWithATreeTrunk #THEBESTISYETTOCOME
Check out the latest The Enterprise Company story featuring Orascom Construction and BESIX — the proud builders of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Our Project Directors, George Kyrillos from Orascom Construction and Joris De Kinder from BESIX (50% owned by OC), share insights into constructing the largest museum structure dedicated to a single civilization. The GEM stands as a true engineering and construction feat. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dRFeHTqk
