The energy transition doesn’t have a singular answer, it is the combination of many actions. For Holcim Belgium, one of those actions is switching to a Volvo FM Electric in an 8x4 Tridem configuration, built for urban construction logistics. Wondering how much you could actually save by going electric? Heard the good news? The Flemish government has increased the maximum weight for 5-axle zero-emission trucks from 44 to 46 tons. This new legislation helps accelerate the transition to emission-free transport, making low-emission zones more accessible and increasing your profitability. Here are the most important changes your business needs to know: ➡️+2 ton load capacity for zero-emission vehicles ➡️+1 ton load capacity for low-emission vehicles ➡️ The age limit for 48/50 tons has been removed ➡️ Tandem distance increased to 1.2 meters “With this decision, we combine economic strength with a realistic and feasible step towards emission-free mobility” says Flemish Minister Annick De Ridder, who led the reform. Find out what this means for you. NL: https://lnkd.in/e7FgcMBM FR: https://lnkd.in/enpDgvPc

Big news in heavy-duty transport: Volvo Trucks introduces the world’s first stop/start engine functionality integrated with I-Roll, designed to reduce fuel consumption and lower CO₂ emissions. Built on top of I-See and I-Roll, this innovation uses road and topographic data so the engine can temporarily shut off when the truck is coasting downhill. No fuel used, no tailpipe CO₂ emitted during that phase. “Our engineers have done it again – innovating a new engine technology that contributes to making transport by truck more fuel-efficient.” — Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management Key highlights: • Activates above 60 km/h on suitable terrain • Adds up to approximately 1% in fuel and CO₂ savings on top of existing efficiencies • Available for order from November 2025 on Volvo FH and FH Aero with the 13-litre diesel engine Read more: NL: https://lnkd.in/emfHPSSP FR:https://lnkd.in/eZH7i4Hm This development strengthens Volvo Trucks’ long-term commitment to decarbonising road transport, alongside battery-electric and fuel-cell options. #VolvoTrucksBelgium #Sustainability #Innovation #VolvoTrucks #Decarbonisation #Press

Behind every long journey is a story and often, a meal worth remembering. Truck drivers spend long days on the road, yet many still find ways to enjoy satisfying, meaningful food wherever they are. Whether prepared at home or found along the route, these meals connect them to familiar flavors, personal routines and the places they pass through. In our latest article, drivers share their food habits and what mealtimes mean to them during their journeys. A simple look at how small moments bring balance to life on the road. CO₂ regulations for heavy-duty vehicles are becoming increasingly strict in Europe. For good reason: trucks and buses currently account for more than 25% of road transport CO₂ emissions. More and more countries are now also linking their kilometer-based road charges (Maut, Viapass, etc.) to your truck's CO₂ class. The cleaner your fleet, the lower your tolls could be in the future. Which alternative fuel or powertrain is the best choice for your business? That depends on your routes, loads, and budget. Want to know more about the stricter CO₂ regulations and their impact on your fleet? Stricter CO₂ rules don’t just set higher targets, they also reshape road tolls. For fleet managers, that means cleaner trucks will pay less. By 2030, all heavy-duty vehicles will need to cut emissions by 43%. And with the new Eurovignette directive, toll costs will directly reflect how much CO₂ your fleet produces. The difference is significant: in countries already applying the new rules, annual toll costs for a diesel truck can reach €46,500 – while an electric truck pays less than €7,000. Curious how much your fleet could actually save? Which alternative drivetrain is best suited to reduce the emissions of your fleet? It depends on your type of transport. For urban distribution, electric remains the top choice. For long hauls, LNG is already a viable option today. Because when it comes to toll fees, from now on, not only axles and weight count but also your trucks’ CO₂ emissions. Germany has already adopted this new system, and Belgium along with other EU countries will follow soon. We’ve taken a closer look at emissions, toll fees, and range comparing the electric and gas-powered Volvo FH.
