This is G.R.E.A.T. – Generating Real Evidence and Arguments for TV Why YouTube starts a losing game, and how #BVOD can win the battle in Belgium. New insights from the Belgian Video Monitor by GroupM and choreograph underscore the enduring strength of #TV and its DNA: high-quality local content, made accessible through advertising. Key findings: 1. Local content is king. The choice of TV or streaming platform is increasingly driven by locally produced content. People’s time and budget is finite, so resonance prevails. 2. Streamz stays strong. As the only local platform offering an ad-supported tier, Streamz maintains its position, even with HBO MAX TV (including ads) entering the market. 3. BVOD is gaining ground. While YouTube’s viewership stabilises, Belgian BVOD platforms are seeing steady growth. A similar growth is noted in UK, France, Germany and it reminds us: European markets differ from the US. What does this mean for international platforms? Even if global players are keen to "TV-tise" with live events and ad tiers, what they lack is a deep understanding of local culture. And what should broadcasters do in response? - Double down on local expertise. - Invest in streaming subscriptions. - Leverage a unified linear and digital inventory  Together, these ensure high weekly reach, the foundation for building brand awareness and driving performance for advertisers.
