Together with Equinor and Shell, TotalEnergies announces the Final Investment Decision for Phase 2 of the Northern Lights CO₂ transport and storage project. ➡️ The project will more than triple its capacity — from 1.5 to over 5 million tons of CO₂ per year by 2028 — supported by a 15-year commercial agreement with Stockholm Exergi to transport and store 900,000 tons of biogenic CO₂ annually. Damen putting finishing touches to jack-up ahead of its inaugural decom with Petrodec. (Offshoreenergy)- A heavy lift jack-up is nearly ready for its assignment with decommissioning services specialist Petrodec after conversion undertaken by Damen Shiprepair, part of the Dutch shipbuilding giant Damen Shipyards Group. According to a social media post by Damen, the self-elevating heavy lift jack-up platform Obana is almost ready to kick off the first operation in the UK sector of the North Sea since its conversion. Measuring 230 x 30 meters, the Obana was engineered by merging two repurposed jack-ups with a newly constructed mid-section equipped with a 2,000-tonne crane. It is envisaged to undertake the decommissioning of complex offshore platforms offshore the UK.

Boskalis - Allseas awarded offshore gas pipeline project in Taiwan, connecting Yongan LNG terminal with Tongxiao #Boskalis and #Allseas announce that their 50-50 consortium has been awarded a €1.2 billion #contract by #Taiwan’s CPC for building the second #offshore #gaspipeline from Yongan to Tongxiao (YT2). Under the contract, the consortium will #design, #construct, #install and pre-commission the new YT2 36-inch, 232-Km offshore #naturalgas #pipeline, which will run parallel to the existing YT1 pipeline, connecting the Yongan #LNG terminal in the Southwest with the Tongxiao transfer station in the Northwest.  “The comprehensive scope of work includes #trenching, #pipelineinstallation with 34 crossings over existing and future #infrastructure and assets, backfilling and two landfalls.” “Boskalis will be responsible for the landfalls and associated #microtunnelling activities, as well as nearshore and offshore #trenching, backfilling, and the installation of rocks for the 34 pipeline crossings.” Allseas will carry out the pipeline installation and pre-commissioning, including the pre-lay installation of #concrete mattresses. Project execution is scheduled to commence in 2026, with completion anticipated in 2028, according to Boskalis’ statement.
