It was a pleasure to be part of Realty Talks at Futurebuild Belgium today. The panel discussion with Caroline Deiteren, Suzy Denys, Siham Rahmuni, and Peter Vanden Houte explored the theme: "How to win the real estate battle?" Regulations, frameworks, and sustainability targets, there’s no shortage of them in real estate. But without clear guidance, the transition to a more sustainable built environment remains slow and fragmented. That’s exactly why the Belgian Green Building Council (BGBC) has been established. As one of the founding members, Montea joins forces with among others Heylen Warehouses, Alides, BPI Real Estate, Bopro, CBRE, Atenor, Cordeel Belgium, AG REAL ESTATE, and ING, which took the first step in bringing the sector together. With the support of VUB, Febelfin, UPSI-BVS, and Embuild, BGBC is creating a unified platform to provide clarity, drive action, and accelerate real progress. And the network continues to grow. The most frequently cited challenge for corporate real estate professionals in relation to supporting business growth?   The alignment of real estate with overarching business strategy.   This lack of synchronisation carries material risks. 🎌Japanese gaming company Konami acquired Amsterdam municipal office building from Blackstone for €95.7M. 🇯🇵The 13,000 m² property, located at the Weesperplein metro station, has a rich history. Originally built in 1969 for Bank van Onroerend Goed NV, it served for decades as an academic building for the University of Amsterdam and later the Hogeschool voor Economische Studies (HES). 🎌Following a comprehensive renovation in 2013 by ZZDP architecten, the building was transformed into a modern municipal office and is now fully leased to the City of Amsterdam. 🇯🇵This acquisition aligns with Kozuki Holding's apparent investment strategy, which favors government-tenanted properties. The entity previously acquired the Visitor Centre of Dutch Central Bank (DNB, 6.790m2) in Amsterdam, 200 meters from Weesperstaete, for €59M in a similar move. 🎌Konami, a titan in the gaming industry, ranks as Japan’s fourth-largest game developer and has been publicly listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange since 1984.
