Ok, so today is the OCA, the Odoo Community Association contribution Tuesday and it's Helpdesk o'clock ⏱️ For some of Odoo users the Helpdesk app is something associated solely with Odoo Enterprise. Meanwhile there is an open source alternative from the OCA, the Odoo Community Association: https://lnkd.in/eF6kVbyU And although it may seem that the basic functionality of the Odoo EE helpdesk is much superior of those the OCA one, the core advantage of the OCA solution is that it's open-source and thus new features can be added easily not constrained by commercial license. How to convert Storable products into Fixed Assets in Odoo 18 You bought 10 💻laptops for resale… but decided to 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. Now what? It’s no longer for sale — it’s a Fixed Asset. Here’s how to handle it properly in Odoo 👇 ✅ Move the value from 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀) 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 in accounting. ✅ Do an Internal Transfer — so the laptop moves to a dedicated Fixed Asset Location. ✅ Create a Fixed Asset record and set up its depreciation schedule. 📊 Key tip: When you capitalize an item → Fixed Assets are debited, Current Assets are credited.
