We are looking for a Head of Procurement who is strategic, resilient, and collaborative to join our Braine Supply Chain team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting UCB’s operational performance by ensuring the availability of all raw materials and components on-site. You are going to bridge global procurement strategy with local execution, directly contributing to the agility, resilience, and operational excellence of our supply chain.
Who you will work with
You will join a dynamic local procurement team, collaborating closely with Global Procurement, Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance. You will be empowered to lead, mentor, and develop your team, while building strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do
You will define and implement the site’s procurement strategy aligned with global objectives.
You will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply of all materials and components, especially critical ones.
You will manage supplier relationships, collaborating globally from selection to performance oversight.
You will develop and monitor supply plans, tracking key performance indicators and anticipating site needs.
You will lead and mentor the local procurement team, fostering autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
You will champion compliance, safety, and sustainability, ensuring all procurement activities meet regulatory and internal standards.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in a relevant field).
Proven experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
Strong understanding of global procurement processes and ERP/planning systems.
Demonstrated ability to assess component criticality and manage supplier impact on production.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
A mindset focused on ownership, resilience, and continuous improvement.
