Finalist cities for the European Capitals of Small Retail are assessed using four clear and transparent criteria, because strong small retail does not happen by chance. Innovation, sustainability, community impact, digital readiness and retail resilience reflect what European cities need to help small retailers grow, adapt, and stay at the heart of local life. At the 2026 Award Ceremony on 28 January 2026 in Brussels, these criteria will be explored through concrete city examples, exchanges with peers and discussions on what works in practice. 👉 Join us on site in Brussels and be part of this exciting European moment: https://shorturl.at/qAmYp #EUCapitalsofSmallRetail #RevitaliseRetail EU Business

Guidelines on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation The European Commission has published its first Guidelines on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), bringing more clarity and predictability for companies operating in the Single Market. The guidelines explain how the Commission will assess: • distortions of competition in the internal market • distortions in public procurement procedures • the balancing of negative and positive effects of foreign subsidies • when below-threshold cases may be called in, with safe harbours for low-value situations They support transparent and effective enforcement of the FSR, ensuring a level playing field while keeping the EU open to trade and investment. 🏗️ A major milestone for Europe’s construction sector is here Today, the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) is fully implemented across the EU – strengthening product performance, sustainability and transparency in construction. The new rules apply gradually and only to products covered by harmonised standards and European Assessment Documents under the new Regulation. This comes just weeks after the European Commission adopts, on 16 December 2025, the European Strategy for Housing Construction together with the first CPR Working Plan 2026–2029 – sending a clear signal: the EU is aligning regulation, industrial capacity and productivity, and housing policy to support faster, more sustainable and more resilient construction and housing delivery. The focus now shifts to delivery – turning regulatory clarity into real-world impact on construction sites and in housing projects, working closely with Member States, local authorities, industry, stakeholders and citizens. 🔗 Construction Products Regulation (CPR): https://lnkd.in/entUJ8ti 🔗 European Strategy for Housing Construction: https://lnkd.in/eUs8hJfq 🔗 CPR Working Plan 2026–2029: https://lnkd.in/ebKXZhtP #SingleMarket #Construction
