Communities in 🇺🇦 Bucha are finding ways to heal and rebuild. The city of Bucha in Ukraine faces a formidable task: to rebuild its infrastructure while restoring its sense of community. The Bucha Forest Classroom is a local project that shows how both goals can be met by keeping sustainability at its core. Located in a public park, the classroom will enable learning within and about the natural environment. 🐞 Co-designed with students and built using circular materials, the project is supported by Co-Create NEB, a programme by EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology focused on the regeneration of public spaces. 🌻 For the people of Bucha, restoring school facilities is a top priority. Once complete, the Bucha Forest Classroom will offer students a peaceful, open-air space to learn and heal. 🏘️ How can we make social and affordable housing more sustainable across Europe? ⤵️ Many diverse and vulnerable communities still face barriers to affordable, quality housing. Innovative approaches are needed to apply available building technologies and construction methods to the social and affordable housing sector, to improve its quality and sustainability.
