error while loading shared libraries: libg2c.so.0: cannot open shared object file

Go to http://rpm.pbone.net/and search libg2c.so.0

Fedora package can be used in Ubuntu.

1. First, i download a package of x86_64,

install alien

sudo apt-get install alien

transform .rpm to .deb

sudo alien *.rpm

install

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

then, i encountered  another problem "×.so.×:wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64".

It means that you need a 32bit lib here.

check as follow:

dpkg --print-architecture

out: amd64    means: 64bit kernel

dpkg --print-foreign-architectures

out: i386         means: support 32bit

Then, I download i386 PRM package from

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/18750634/dir/fedora_3/com/libf2c-3.4.4-2.fc3.i386.rpm.html

alien cannot be successfully transform 32 bit .prm to .deb

extract .prm

copy the *.so.0 and its link to /usr/local/lib

or just make a link, and copy the link to /usr/local/lib

Then, it works!!
