Step into the Age of Enlightenment with Emerald Flower, a new Paperblanks design for Fall 2025. Inspired by an exquisite book binding, this rich green journal design is adorned with delicate leaves and branches intertwined throughout with large rose sprays, reminding us of nature’s harvest at Thanksgiving.
Dating back to 1760, the original book binding contained The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments … together with the Psalter. It was bound in red morocco with gold tooling, gilded edges, and smooth marbled leaves. We are delighted to reproduce this antique binding in a new charming green colourway.

We were attracted to this binding not only for its beautiful craftsmanship but for our shared heritage. It is held in our hometown of Dublin, Ireland at Marsh’s Library, an immaculately preserved library of the early Enlightenment era that has remained virtually unchanged for three centuries. Its walls are lined with dark oak bookcases filled with 25,000 books, manuscripts, and maps from the 18th century.
We are so lucky that during the development of this design some of our Paperblanks team were able to take a short walk to Marsh’s Library and experience this stunning binding in person!
Emerald Flower is available as a hardcover journal, bookmark, document folder, guest book, pencil, pencil case, and washi tape double-pack with Silk Sky.
