Thirteen organizations are on a journey to explore their economic impact locally, provincially and nationally – and they’re digging into their accounting systems to do it. Supported by Shorefast, these organizations are going through the inaugural pilot of the Economic Nutrition Certification program. When they’re done, they’ll know exactly where their money flows, and who it flows to. “Now more than ever Canadians are looking for ways to invest locally and ethically,” Shorefast wrote. “This shift is here to stay, no doubt encouraged by the recent Buy Canada policy.” More here: https://lnkd.in/efmbrGhG

I've greatly valued being a member of Future of Good and the journalism and insights I've gained from Vinod Rajasekaran, Sharlene Gandhi, Gabe Oatley, Anouk Bertner and the rest of the team. Reporting and stories. Hearing from Canadian voices and changemakers working towards and strategizing positive social, environmental, and cultural impact, and moving our country towards a regenerative economic direction. Now we have an opportunity to help them do something bigger. A crowdfunding campaign. To learn more: https://lnkd.in/ePg5ph6w What you will gain and give: -Access. With the membership paywall removed, all social purpose organizations will have access to these insights -Quadrupling your money effect. This crowdfunding campaign has a matching factor, so each dollar you contribute is matched by four more, so one dollar = five dollars for Future of Good Pretty cool!
🧱 Make It Possible: Join the Demolition Crew! To the changemakers, the leaders, and the social impact drivers: We know the paywall has been a barrier to your essential work. Today, we're giving you the tools to break it down. We're launching our most critical campaign ever: Make It Possible: Tear Down the Wall. Our goal is to become a community-backed Registered Journalism Organization (RJO) and make our social impact journalism free, open-access, and forever. 📢 We Need to Raise $150,000 by December 15, 2025. Here's the powerful part—your impact is multiplied: ➡️ Every dollar you give is MATCHED 4X by four institutional funders. ➡️ Buy a Brick ($100) → Becomes $500 in funding. ➡️ Sponsor a Charitable Team ($1,000) → Becomes $5,000 in funding. You aren't just funding journalism; you are freeing essential knowledge for every colleague, partner, and leader working for change across Canada. Your gift fuels the data, insights, and essential news that help the social purpose sector make better decisions and drive real change. Let’s make Future of Good journalism open-access to everyone, everywhere, forever. Your $1 = $5. Your impact multiplies. Make. It. Possible. Since joining Future of Good in January of this year, and since being a member in their early days, I've seen them do some remarkable things Be it their impressive coverage of the social purpose world, through scandals, a pandemic, major shifts and overall change while holding power to account. To bringing together communities in ways that hasn't been seen before. To launching major research projects like the Changemaker Wellbeing Index to say what's on all of our minds...we're burnout. We're tired. We need help And something that's not as well-known is that we have applied to be a Registered Journalism Organization. Why does this matter? Because we want Future of Good to belong to the community of Changemakers who want to do good better, and who are always pushing the boundaries of what's possible. And something we want to contribute to the sector is: taking down the paywall for our journalism. Because at Future of Good, we believe that having access to information shouldn't only be reserved for people with the ability to pay. So, we're looking to those invested in Changemakers to help us raise $150,000, which will then be matched 5x by our partners. By raising $150,000, we will transition to a community-backed Registered Journalism Organization (RJO) and permanently remove the paywall from all our journalism. So, if you believe that access to information should be something available to all Changemakers, we invite you to join us in this important campaign To make it possible https://lnkd.in/eNNC58gu

“We must seize the momentum from the NSFP to introduce culinary school students to social entrepreneurship. We need to tell them about the opportunities for social catering.” Jean-Francois Archambault, Founder, La Tablée des Chefs “We have childcare resources now selling meals to their neighbourhood schools, and Meals on Wheels adding school delivery to their route.” Thibaud Liné, GM, La Cantine pour tous Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada/ Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada estimates that a yearly investment of $100M is necessary to upgrade Canada’s school and community equipment. Last year, The Breakfast Club of Canada was awarded $5 million. It was allocated to 41 community projects and helped them ramp up their equipment. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eWeaXaXf

“Tiny homes are emerging as a short-term response to homelessness across Canada, but can they be part of a long-term solution? Penticton, B.C., may soon join other cities experimenting with tiny home villages as council considers a new project aimed at providing safety, stability, and wraparound supports for unhoused residents.” Terrilee K.
