to educate responsible social innovators. In Fall 2013, St. Paul’s launched GreenHouse— a
discovery lab and incubator that provides a range of services for undergraduate and graduate
students passionate about creating impactful ideas and ventures that address societal
challenges. Since that time, the program has mentored hundreds of young social innovators,
and through our events we have engaged with thousands of youth and community members in
Waterloo Region and beyond.
These innovators share a desire to do something bigger than themselves in service of the
broader public good. There are those who want to develop practical solutions to social and
environmental problems but don’t know where to start, and those who have an idea of how to
address a specific problem but aren’t sure how to develop, test and scale it. GreenHouse
provides the training, mentoring, peer-support and even seed-funding for students who want to
develop ventures and innovations that will further social or environmental progress.
GreenHouse has supported 60+ social change projects as well as 70+ social enterprises and
has created multiple pathways for ideas to gain traction both locally and globally. These
ventures are saving lives, helping those in need, strengthening communities and creating policy
change.
Specific responsibilities of the Advisory Council include but are not limited to:
-Share and discuss emerging knowledge and best practices in the field of youth-led
social innovation and entrepreneurship
-Identify and recommend new strategic opportunities for GreenHouse including program
expansion and revenue generation opportunities
-Advise on ways to deepen existing partnerships
-Identify and make introductions to potential partners
-Be a champion of GreenHouse and share success stories across networks
-One-on-one advisory sessions with innovators and the GreenHouse director when needed

ColaLife
- Present
ColaLife is working in developing countries to bring Coca-Cola, its bottlers and others together to open up Coca-Cola's distribution channels to carry 'social products' such as oral rehydration salts and zinc supplements to save children's lives.
You can buy a Coca-Cola virtually anywhere in developing countries but in these same places up to 1 in 5 children die before their 5th birthday from simple preventable causes like dehydration from diarrhoea.Other creatorsSee project -
