"It only took a month for me to know Petro-Canada was where I saw my future." Nine years later, Vamsi Chitturi is living the future he envisioned. From working night shifts as a gas station attendant in Brampton to leading an award-winning site in Fort McMurray, AB, within his first year of becoming an associate, Vamsi has come a long way since his humble beginnings as a student in 2016. Along the way, he’s managed multiple locations, trained new leaders, and been an avid supporter of the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation and its initiatives.   Thank you, Vamsi, for showing what determination and a commitment to your community can achieve. We’re proud to announce this year’s grant recipients of Petro-Canada’s Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE™) Program. Each athlete-coach pair receives $10,000 to support their training and help them pursue their dream of representing Team Canada at the Olympic or Paralympic Games. Since 1988, Petro-Canada has supported more than 3,500 Canadian athletes and coaches by providing more than $14 million in financial support. Congratulations to the FACE Class of 2025!

Strides for Caregivers is back! The fourth annual Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation’s Strides for Caregivers national walk will be taking place from October 14–22. Across Canada, Petro-Canada and Suncor employees, along with their families and friends, are walking to support the more than 8 million caregivers across Canada. This event raises both awareness and funds to support programs and resources for family caregivers. This year’s fundraising goal is $180,000, and with your support, we can help surpass it! Not all careers start with a plan. Some start with a part-time job.   For Vik Heer, Petro-Canada was just another part-time gig to get him through university, but 27 years later, Vik jokes that his life has been “one-third sleep, one-third work, and one-third Petro-Canada.”   Starting at 18, Vik has spent more than half his life growing with a company he says “gave him everything he has.” His dedication to Petro-Canada and the communities he serves is nothing short of inspiring.   Thank you, Vik, for choosing to build your journey with us. // Ce ne sont pas toutes les carrières qui commencent avec un plan. Certaines commencent par un emploi à temps partiel.   Pour Vik Heer, Petro-Canada était simplement un autre emploi à temps partiel pendant ses études à l'université, mais 27 ans plus tard, il raconte à la blague que sa vie a été « un tiers de sommeil, un tiers de travail et un tiers de Petro-Canada ».   Ayant commencé à l'âge de 18 ans, Vik a passé plus de la moitié de sa vie à grandir avec une entreprise dont il dit qu'elle « lui a donné tout ce qu'il possède ». Son dévouement envers Petro-Canada et les collectivités qu'il sert est extrêmement inspirant.   Merci, Vik, d'avoir choisi de bâtir ton parcours avec nous.

September 30th is Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. On this day, we honour and acknowledge the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. As part of our journey of reconciliation, our Associates and their teams wear these pins to honour the Survivors of residential schools. The hand design represents the children reaching out, letting people know they are here. We are grateful to the artist, Michelle Stoney of the Gitxsan Territory in the house of Delgamuukw, for allowing us to share her powerful design.
