Abstract The publication of open research data (ORD) is becoming an integral part of publicly funded research. Scientific publishers, funders and research institutions often require researchers to publish the data and code that is relevant for their articles. This data needs to be citable and published in a repository that follows the FAIR principles. For scientific domains that generate large datasets institutional repositories reach their limits. This presentation introduces the service Libdrive, an extension of the ETH Research Collection, ETH Zurich’s institutional repository. This service as a use case of sync&share; storage allows researchers to publish datasets of several terabytes in accordance with the ORD guidelines of the various stakeholders. We provide an overview of the service, it’s infrastructure and how it’s integrated with the ETH Research Collection and central storage services. Subsequently we show the trends in its use and the challenges we've encountered in implementing this service.
