"My child was supposed to get the rotavirus vaccine, but she missed it because I was unable to reach the nearest facility." In Kajiado County, Kenya, vaccine coverage is nearly 50% below the national average. A 12-day pop-up clinic in Maasailand reached 1,827 patients, including children that have never been vaccinated. This week, Bangkok hosted the 37th Annual Conference of the INTERNATIONAL PAPILLOMAVIRUS SOCIETY - IPVS — a leading global platform for advancing HPV research and strategies to eliminate cervical cancer. At the conference, Gavi led a session on “Integration for sustainability of HPV vaccination for cervical cancer elimination” featuring representatives from the Ministries of Health of Tanzania and Kenya, Health Poverty Action in Lao PDR, and Jhpiego. The discussion explored how integration, innovation and collaboration are helping countries sustain HPV vaccination and reach more adolescent girls – moving closer to the goal of protecting 86 million girls by the end of 2025. A huge thank you to Emily Kobayashi, Amal Abikar and Mary Adeoye for representing Gavi and helping us drive forward global progress in cervical cancer prevention. #HPV #CervicalCancerElimination #GlobalHealth #VaccinesWork

Nearly 3 million girls protected. 💫 In partnership with the Government of Mozambique, WHO and UNICEF, Gavi has helped expand HPV vaccination to reach girls aged 12–18 across all 11 provinces in Mozambique, reaching 2.9 million girls. With just one dose, the HPV vaccine provides strong protection against a leading cause of death among women worldwide. In Mozambique, where cervical cancer remains the most common cancer among women of reproductive age, this achievement marks an important step toward a healthier future for all of the country’s girls and women. Together with our partners, we’re working to ensure every girl has the chance to grow up protected and thrive. https://bit.ly/43uXmZE
