🔴 #DareToShare : Tell your story! As the #DareToShare Challenge continues, we love discovering your stories and learning more about your projects and journeys. It's also a great opportunity to connect with aspects we didn't know about before. https://dare-to-share.org/ Now is also the perfect time to reflect on a key question: Why should I register my project on the Digital Health Atlas? 🔗 digitalhealthatlas.org Because registering is like publishing. Both actions make your work visible, contribute to collective learning, and strengthen the global digital health ecosystem. The Digital Health Atlas (DHA) is a WHO global resource that increases visibility and collaboration with other initiatives, partners and global knowledge networks. By registering, you: 👉 Document your progress and achievements 👉 Contribute to advancing knowledge in digital health 👉 Inform policy and practice through evidence and experience 👉 Connect with others working in similar domains or regions ❤️ What's YOUR reason for registering your project on the Digital Health Atlas. Let us know in the comments. 👏 A big thank you to all those who have already registered and shared their work! Would you like to try it today? https://lnkd.in/dekBp8yS #DigitalHealth #DareToShare #GlobalHealth #KnowledgeSharing #DigitalHealthAtlas #ImpactStory #GDHM

🔴 What an inspiring few days at the GESDA - Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator Summit ! Awa Babington-Ashaye, Ph.D had the pleasure of attending this year's event. Some selected highlights 👇 ✴️ Genomic Surveillance Frontline: Prof. Christian Happi (ACEGID) on Africa's leadership in outbreak intelligence especially Nigeria: decoding Ebola and SARS-CoV-2 genomes in record time and building equitable, locally driven diagnostics and vaccines. ✴️ The Future Frontiers of Mathematics: Prof. Inhyong Kim on human–machine collaboration. AI could outperform humans on problems not requiring new theory and, within 10 years, it may generate genuinely interesting conjectures and only within 25 years, humans should be able to understand AI limitations precisely ! ✴️ Neurotechnology and governance: With breakthroughs in Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCI), developments in biology and medicine: from age-reversal approaches to transplantable organs, the ethical and governance questions are more urgent than ever! Always a privilege to be immersed in such exchange of ideas and science- diplomacy driven dialogue! Huge congratulations to the GESDA - Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator team. Special thanks to Sophie Gilbert, Martin Müller and Manuel Gustavo Isaac. #ScienceDiplomacy #GESDA #Radar2026 #AI #Mathematics #GlobalHealth #Genomics #BCI #Space #Longevity #Ecology #AnticipatoryGovernance #FutureOfScience

I’m taking the #DareToShare Challenge ✨ 1️⃣ My first digital health project was... RehabManager.com — launched in Silicon Alley, New York City, during the dot.com boom of 2000. It was my first taste of how technology could empower health. That spark inspired my PhD research on how people in Bangladesh (through Grameen’s Village Phone Program) and Egypt used mobile phones for health — an ethnographic study of early “mobile health” long before it became mainstream. After finishing my PhD, Prof. S. Yunkap Kwankam, Ph.D., who was then leading the WHO Global Observatory for eHealth, invited me to conduct the first global landscape on mobile phones and health. With encouragement from Karl Brown at the Rockefeller Foundation, I turned those findings into the first mHealth Wiki page, which later helped lay the groundwork for the mHealth Alliance following the Making the eHealth Connection series of meetings at Bellagio. I also had the incredible privilege to lead early innovation in mHealth and telemedicine while at the Earth Institute at Columbia University (2008-2011) and the ethnographic study for MoTECH which laid the foundation for MAMA. 2️⃣ Where I work now... I an CEO at health.enabled, a women-led nonprofit advancing gender-intentional digital health and responsible AI with increasing focus on digital determinants of health and effective private sector engagement. We’re also the lead stewards of the Global Digital Health Monitor (GDHM) — helping countries to prioritize digital health investments and private sector to de-risk their digital health investments. I am also a Senior Associate Professor at the The Center for Global Digital Health Innovation and Co-PI on the Digital Health Exemplars Study. 3️⃣ Why I care about digital health... I’ve seen how digital health, especially when a gender-intentional approach is adopted, can close health access gaps, measurably improve health outcomes, and help countries build smarter, fairer, and more resilient health systems. 4️⃣ My best memory or insight from my journey... Over the span of 25 years, I have watched the impact of technology on health and the community grow in incredible ways. I love this field because of the mission driven people that I have gotten to work with over the years. 5️⃣ My project is the Global Digital Health Monitor. Our team at health.enabled we support countries to assess and monitor their digital health maturity. Over three rounds we have seen nine countries measurably increase their overall digital health maturity. Ready to #DareToShare? I dare Derrick Muneene and Erica Layer to share their digital health journeys next. #DareToShare #DigitalHealthAtlas #GDHM #ImpactStory #GIDH #DigitalTransformation #HealthEquity #WomenInDigitalHealth #HealthEnabled #AIforHealth #GlobalHealthInnovation

Call to action: repost this post at least 💯 times My turn to take the #DareToShare Challenge! https://dare-to-share.org 1️⃣ My first digital health project: I won’t refer here to my first project, but to the one that linked them all : the Digital Health Atlas (www.digitalhealthatlas.org) at WHO, a global platform that brings together and connects digital health projects worldwide to foster collaboration, transparency, and smarter investments. 2️⃣ Where I work now: As a Digital Health and Innovation Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO), I lead initiatives that strengthen countries’ digital health capacity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation across global health systems. 3️⃣ Why I care about digital health: Having lived with a chronic condition for many years, I know the difference continuity of care can make. I believe digital health isn’t just about innovation it’s about equity, access, and dignity in care. Projects like CareAide/WeCare implemented in Indonesia and Malaysia, focused on chronic disease management, resonate deeply with me because they embody what I’ve dedicated my career to: making health systems more connected and compassionate. 4️⃣ My best memories/insights: Working with ministries, health workers, and innovators around the world and seeing how data, collaboration, and empathy can bridge the gap between policy and patients. 5️⃣ My project is registered on the Digital Health Atlas: Yes and No, having contributed to the growth and the development of the platform for the last 5 years, I see all the projects hosted there as part of a shared journey, but one that stands out is CareAide/WeCare, implemented in Indonesia and Malaysia.(https://lnkd.in/emtt_eHm): Digital Health Solution for Chronic Disease Management because, living with a chronic disease myself, it truly matters to me. I dare to tag my friends and colleagues Dr. Meshari F.
