About Tuesday in Berlin… As part of GATEWAY49 / de:hub Renewable Energy, we had the pleasure of attending the de:hub Ecosystem Forum at the EUREF-Campus Berlin, a truly inspiring day full of exciting conversations, new ideas, and real entrepreneurial energy. A special highlight for us: we had the opportunity to take the stage and share our founder story with Softletics, in front of an audience of start-ups, companies, supporters, policymakers, and investors. It was an amazing feeling to be part of such a vibrant network that showcases the incredible innovation and passion within our startup landscape. Wow – what amazing news! 🎉 We’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve made it into the TOP 20 of all international submissions for the James Dyson Award, and that we’re the only project from the DACH region to be recognized! 🇩🇪🇦🇹🇨🇭 This achievement means so much more to us than just an award: It’s a sign of recognition and appreciation, and a strong message that innovation is being seen and supported – so that, hopefully soon, people around the world can benefit from our prosthetics solution. 🦾 What makes this even more special is that the award was given by a jury of engineers, who thoroughly evaluated our technology and found it to be particularly outstanding and worth highlighting. We feel deeply grateful and proud that our idea resonates with so many people, and that our work is being recognized. About last week… Last Thursday we attended the AI State Conference in Lübeck and, thanks once again to had the fantastic opportunity to present on stage in front of a great audience. It was a day full of firsts for us: -For the first time, we introduced our new name Softletics, along with our new colors and logo on stage. -For the first time, we also had our very own booth – complete with a freshly printed roll-up and brand-new T-shirts. We also had the chance to meet both familiar faces and many inspiring new startups from the GATEWAY49 ecosystem, sharing the stage and great conversations with them (ASAP research automation, Lumeox, EchoScout GmbH). Thank you all – you’re doing an amazing job, keep it up! And that’s not all: we even got to explore the studios of Radio Lübeck, which led to a spontaneous interview! So interesting to see all the dedication and work that goes into running such a passionate local radio station. A huge thank you to everyone for your kind words, inspiring exchanges, and to all who made the conference possible. 🎉 Big news! 🎉 We finally have an official product name, and we’re excited to share it with you: Softletics. 🦾 It stands for movement, dynamism, and a fresh, inclusive approach to prosthetics. After developing our solution under the project name SoftSocket, it was time to take the next step. From now on, Softletics is not just our product name, it’s our identity. And yes… a brand-new logo comes with it too. This name reflects our mission: empowering people with limb differences to move freely, live actively, and feel truly included. Still can’t quite believe it: SoftSocket is the national winner of the James Dyson Award 2025 in Switzerland! 🏆🇨🇭 We started this journey with a question from someone who just wanted to move more freely. That question turned into a thesis. The thesis turned into a prototype. And now… here we are. Our goal with SoftSocket has always been clear: to make prosthetics more adaptable, more comfortable, and more accessible, especially for people who don’t fit into the one-size-fits-all system. This award is a huge encouragement to keep going, and proof that the hours, the late nights, and the hundreds of small decisions were all worth it. Now we’re heading into the international round of the James Dyson Award and taking the next steps toward certification and production. Copenhagen Tech BBQ 2025 On Wednesday and Thursday we visited the TechBBQ in one of the most beautiful capital cities in Europe: Copenhagen. It was a place full of innovation, inspiration and creative minds from almost all fields of technology (computer science, life science, hardware and of course AI, ...). For us it feels a bit like a fantastic class trip from our ecosystem in Lübeck, not only because of our bags full of class trip snacks. :) Many thanks to Niclas and Janet for organising the trip and many thanks to everyone who took part.
