Today marks the entry into force of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) between the EFTA states and India — opening a new chapter for #innovation, #investment and stronger economic ties. The day began with a tree planting ceremony at the Embassy of Switzerland in India and Bhutan — a symbolic act highlighting the strong #sustainability dimension of TEPA, and a reminder that trade and investment must always move forward hand in hand with sustainable development. On this special day Satish Rao, President of SICC had the opportunity to address distinguished guests stating that "TEPA is a historic milestone for Swiss–India trade and already helped secure USD 2.1 billion in confirmed investments within just a few months of the signing. And this is just the beginning, as we continue to actively pursue opportunities across industries to ensure that this agreement translates into tangible impact for both Swiss and Indian businesses" The celebrations continued in New Delhi at the official ceremony by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India reaffirming the importance of this achievement and the shared commitment to open and fair trade. We believe TEPA will not only strengthen bilateral trade but also catalyze deeper collaboration, innovation, and investment flows — paving the way for a more dynamic Indo-Swiss business ecosystem.
